The official weigh in event for UFC 143: "Diaz vs. Condit" took place a little later today (Fri., Feb. 3, 2012) from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
And all 22 fighters who tipped the scale did so at their contracted weights making all 11 bouts scheduled for tomorrow night's fight card officially official.
UFC 143 will be headlined by former Strikeforce welterweight champion Nick Diaz battling ex-WEC 170-pound kingpin Carlos Condit for the right to wear the division's Interim strap with Georges St. Pierre on the sidelines recovering from knee surgery.
In the co-main event, former welterweight number one contender Josh Koscheck will try to keep his spot among the 170-pound elite by taking on the venerable Mike Pierce.

I only challenged “Nickdiazmeanmug” because I though Cowboy was a lock against Diet Diaz but I was wrong and to be honest, I didn’t even have a planned out sig if I had won. It just doesn’t seem worth it to me.

But you’re right, Diaz is anything but easy to finish. His chin and ability to recover when hurt is part of what makes him such a good fighter, Condits a proven finisher but it’ll take the performance of a lifetime to stop Diaz.

I am a Condit fan, but even i can admit this fight is not easy.
Condit has been sub’d before; but the subs were a long time ago. I am definitely rooting for Condit. I think he takes it UD. I have a lot of respect for Diaz, so if he Ko’s him, then that be KO of the year…
Just a shame that they could not both fight GSP, but instead have to fight each other.

I’m say he’s taking the fight on short notice, his last fight was at Jacksons MMA series 7 on Jan. 21st. He’s physically unprepared for this fight and unequipped to fight at welterweight.
He is a 155/145lbs fighter. I did research for this event again, I know how short he is….

But, to put it plainly, Riddle sucks. In the first couple of rounds in the Benoist fight when he took Lance down, Lance was able to reverse him easily, and Lance is a blue belt. Martinez is a black belt, and according to ANS has solid wrestling credentials. The only reason Im having a hard time picking this fight is because of the size disparity.

I agree, we haven’t seen him like this because he hasn’t faced a dude like condit they are pretty much the same except their attitudes are different condit doesn’t say much and I’ve never heard a disrespectful thing out of him during an interview. And i know diaz feels for him because he got screwed out of a title fight to please the media. All in all diaz knows he is going to get a war and not some guy who quits when he is getting his ass beat or a lay n pray type guy. So in super excited for this fight now and make no mistake diaz wants to destroy condit but he knows that condit is a real fighter who never quits but i thing diaz will wear him out and just sub him kind of how the cyborg fight went. Cyborg was doing great in the stand up diaz just wore him down and got the sub

I do agree more with this though. Cyborg and BJ Penn’s biggest weakness is one of Diaz’s biggest strengths and not a huge advantage he will have have over Condit and closer in my opinion to a KJ Noons like fight. Being five rounds though I do agree even a athlete as good as shape as Condit, Diaz still has a advantage as he and GSP are in a category by themselves and a point of the fight Condit is more likely to make a mistake.
