UFC 144 weigh in results video LIVE from Japan for 'Edgar vs Henderson'

Photo

The official weigh in event for UFC 144: "Edgar vs. Henderson" took place tonight (Fri., Feb. 24, 2012) from the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.

And all was going swimmingly until Quinton Jackson, who got the biggest reception of the night, mind you, hit the scale and nearly collapsed the stage. "Rampage" weighed in at a whopping 211-pounds for his light heavyweight bout against Ryan Bader, who agreed to take 20-percent of Jackson's purse in exchanging for continuing on with the fight.

Old Quinton must not have been able to resist that two-dollar 7-Eleven fried chicken.

UFC 144: "Edgar vs. Henderson" will be headlined by a 155-pound title fight featuring number one division contender Ben Henderson, fresh off his unanimous decision win over Clay Guida, taking on reigning lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

In addition, a welterweight clash between Jake Shields vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama is on tap, as well as a light heavyweight tilt between Quinton Jackson vs. Ryan Bader.

That's an old photo, genius

Even tho I initially acted like a small child, I have been forced to come to my senses. enzo-enormous is better at calling fights than I am, by far. I am a little immature but am working on it. Also, I love dudes and cant wait to get a reach around from the 209

I dont understand something

How the weigh ins live at 11 pm our time tonight when the fight is tomorrow? That would make the weigh ins live in Japan at 11 am. That means weigh ins and fights are same day there? Unless the fights are on Sunday in Japan in the morning which makes it Sat night here?

by jbulgner on Feb 24, 2012 11:51 AM EST reply actions

Exactly

The fight will be technically Sunday morning in Japan

It could be Zuffa's attempt at widening their market and growth of the sport in countries outside the US

A chink in the armor of Zuffa’s profit intake, that’s forsure.

Shields/Akiyama and Kongo/Hunt...

Should not be promoted ahead of any of the first 3 fights on the main card.

Pettis/Lauzon should be before the co main event and even Hioki/Bartimus has title implications…the winner is more than likely going to fight Aldo on free tv

And Rampage is over weight…damn…I think Bader may pull this off

Rampage 211 lol

Guess that clip in vblog 2 wasn’t a joke at all.

i hear fankie is walking round 160's but it obviously isnt all muscle, since we've seen the weighin

the extra weight is unecessary and some cause for concern in such a tight fight it may make him a little off versus on the money like he’s always been. Rampage, frankie nd Boetsch are the fighters that cause me the most concern…. I swear boetsch can make 170lbs.

Damn Page!

I knew he was not taking this fight seriously when he said he doesnt care if he wins or loses. Wasted talent… If loses, its only because he gave it to badar and got lazy.

I feel bad for Frankie

Im an Edgar fan but I think Henderson wins this by first round sub…Anyone else agree?

by jbulgner on Feb 24, 2012 11:33 PM EST reply actions

dont know about 1st rd sub

but I do like Bendo to win this one. Likely will go to a decision. This has potential for fight of a lifetime

i dont give out free signatures

by nugnuts on Feb 24, 2012 11:35 PM EST up reply actions

I only said that

because if he doesnt get it in the first round when they are still fresh and not sweaty, I agree it will go to a decision too and at that point, I like Edgar for it. I think his speed is going to frustrate Ben as the fight goes on. I just see this as a quick and huge upset for some reason. I hope im wrong though.

sad Rampage. beg for your japan spot and show up that overweight.

win or lose..its over.

You mean the same AJ who came in OW and still lost to Vitor? I think Page still wins but that brother's MMA career is officially over.

Rampage was overweight and still looked half of Baders size

Also, I hope Frankie smashes Bendo tomorrow.

And, Akiyama looked like a Super Saiyan.
