UFC 146: Glover Teixeira vs Kyle Kingsbury booked for May 26 in Las Vegas
That was fast.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) wasted little time in giving Light Heavyweight import Glover Teixeira something to fight over, pairing him off against the venerable Kyle Kingsbury for a bout at the upcoming UFC 146 pay-per-view (PPV) event, scheduled for May 26, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The promotion announced the 205-pound contest late last night.
Teixeira (17-2) has been terrorizing the Brazilian circuit over the past six years, racking up 15 straight wins with a frightening 14 stoppages. He was last seen beating the relevance out of Ricco Rodriguez at "MMA Against Dengue" last November.
Kingsbury certainly has his work cut out for him.
"Kingsbu" (11-3) knows a thing or two about dealing with top Brazilian prospects, having put the kibosh on Fabio Maldonado's rise to fame during The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 13 season finale last June.
He was unable to replicate that performance against Stephan Bonnar in his next fight, losing by unanimous decision, but he's still a force to be reckoned with.
UFC 146 is expected to be headlined by the biggest fight of the year (literally), when heavyweight champion Junior dos Santos puts his strap on the line for the very first time against division number one contender and famed Dutch striker Alistair Overeem.
Middleweight TUF guy Jason Miller is also back in action taking on the venerable C.B. Dollaway while Edson Barboza goes to war against Evan Dunham.

Nice. Kyle is a solid gatekeeper and definitely no pushover. Let's see if Glover can handle him and if he does, in what fashion.

This card needs to start stacking up a bit better.
HW title fight cards are always weak under cards, except 116.
