Rampage Jackson training video features 'giant sets' and lots of PVC pipe

What's Quinton Jackson doing to prepare for UFC 144?

"Rampage" has a light heavyweight fight against Ryan Bader this Saturday night (Feb. 25, 2012) at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. And since he's returning to the "Land of the Rising Sun," a place that defined the earlier part of his career as a standout in PRIDE FC, he'll no doubt be looking to put on a show for the Japanese fans.

That means he needs to be in peak physical condition for "Darth," who will likely use his outstanding collegiate wrestling skills to try and upend the Memphis power-puncher. To that end, his pre-fight training regimen is focused on speed and agility, not cold, hard numbers.

Sorry, meatheads.

You won't find any monster bench presses in this video or joint-busting squats. Instead, you'll find plenty of PVC pipe, resistance bands and kettlebells. But will it all pay off on fight night?

Time will tell.

The more we doubt the more impressed we will be, Rampage beat Machida when we all thought it was a ‘gimmie’ for Machida and he smashed Hamill with one good hand.

Never doubt this uncaring howling man.

He looked bad vs. Machida and got a victory on points. He did not beat anybody that night. Rampage has not looked impressive in a long time.

If Machida had not been so gun shy because of his KO loss to Rua then he takes a UD over Rampage. Rampage showed me nothing in that fight. He has been a shadow of his former self as he is now Hollywood Page.

How does "doesn't have the chin" equate to a UD?

Wouldn’t logic say that the outcome would be a KO?

Has anyone seen Rampage’s video of him agonizing over having to do 10-15 push ups on chairs. The guys has gotten so lazy it’s funny. Still hardly gasses or get that weak, good athlete.

That workout could have been decent had he done it with some intensity.

No surprised he took shortcuts. His range of motion on the pushups was pathetic and yet the MP trainer let him get away with it. It looked like he never deadlifted before. 135# should have been baby weight for him and he couldn’t even get square on the bar. He looked old and slow and had the fat Rumble Johnson face going. Bet he’ll have a fun time getting down to 205. Hope Bader beats him. He hasn’t looked good since beating Chuck with the exception of the early 1st round KO of Wandy.

Bader should be worried

Rampage is going to drag him across the Octagon and drop heavy balls on him.

is he just clowning around or is this serious

Rampage is the kinda guy to put out a video like this & it be nothing like what he’s really doing in his training camp…… or maybe i’m wrong & he’s a dick

by evilgumbo on Feb 22, 2012 3:29 PM EST reply actions

I don't know

but like Rampage said, if you are training 3-4 times a day, this training isn’t all that bad… I mean the pushups were pretty lame but if he has another gound training, stand-up training and a crossfit training it’s ok!
I’m just saying don’t judge to fast, maybe it’s just the tip of the iceberg!

I think this is from the Jones Fight, Denver was too cold for him so he didn’t train at MP this time. It’s embarrasing to listen to him bitch and whine in every interview he does. One more loss, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he says he’s retiring.
