I don't think you should talk down, you should be neutral. When I used to fight in PRIDE, watch Bas Rutten and Stephen Quadros on commentary. Those guys were my good friends and you couldn't even tell when they were doing commentary. We hung out outside of work sometimes, we were good friends but when I fought they weren't biased towards me. They did their job. They weren't biased towards skills or anything like that. That's the way it should be. Sometimes you can hear him because Joe Rogan has one of those girly high-ass voices. I just wanna tell him to shut the fuck up sometimes."
Quinton Jackson, who fights Ryan Bader at UFC 144 this Saturday night (Feb. 25, 2012) at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, has strong words for UFC color commentator Joe Rogan, who "Rampage" believes is "biased" towards jiu-jitsu fighters, often at the expense of strikers or non-grappling styles of combat (6:14 mark). Anyone think the Memphis slugger is being too hard on Rogan -- or do you side with Jackson and think the broadcasting team should make a concerted effort to remain neutral at all times? And how do you feel about his comparison to Quadros and Rutten?

Rampage tends to go a bit overboard with the insults. He's a little sensitive imo.
But he’s right on with the Rogan bias. Joe is my favourite commentator in the sport, Pride Quadros possibly at second but it’s outrageously obvious which fighter he’s cheering for sometimes.

He fell ass backwards into a dream job & I’m jealous but let’s not pretend we don’t all say the same about Rogan that Rampage is here at least 5X a broadcast. You can always tell who Rogan is going for when he's commentating.
Dude was laughable when he called out Yamasaki in Brazil. He had a valid point, but his lazy-eyed burnout ass would be too scared to do that shit in the states with an athletic commission present.

Page is wrong about Bas to an extent.
He also was very biased in Pride at times but nowhere near as much as Joe.
Watch some Fedor fights and tell me that he didn’t want the guy to lose just a widddlleee bit at times. He would even give Mirko secret advice in a poor mans bid to beat Fedor lol.

U couldn’t be more wrong. Rogan is incredibly humble and has maybe the smallest ego in showbiz. You should listen to his podcast. With that being said, he also admits he is human and makes mistakes.

I can pretty much guarantee that if he had that much trouble with that version of Page
The best version of Page would’ve floored him. That’s how I look at it anyway. Forrest IMO has gotten really lucky a couple times as far as the condition he caught certain fighters in on fight night.
History will go down with a “W” in that column for him but it’s not a W that I put a whole lot of stock in.

Rampage is probably out of line, but I am tired of Joe Rogan and Goldberg anyway. They used to be funny, Goldie would say something stupid, Joe would say how wrong he was, but its the same thing over and over again.
And maybe its just me, but it seems like Rogan either misses important things in the fight or we just disagree on what’s exciting/important. There are times when a fighter lands a big shot and nothing is said and other times when a fighter doesnt land much of anything and Rogan and Goldie go crazy.

You do have to take into account that Goldie and Rogan are watching the fight from a different angle. So they may miss some things or see them differently.

Entertaining interview! I love that he called out Joe Rogan, I’ve been annoyed as hell about him complaining about “ohh this guy doesn’t throw leg kicks, he’s so one dimensional, he has to throw leg kicks”. Some guys styles just are more focused on other things, rather than trying to be as “mixed” as possible and score points. He can be really tiresome with his complaining and telling guys how to fight sometimes. I haven’t really noticed any clear bias for BJJ players though.

But I have noticed that his commentary is getting more and more one-sided or biased if you will. In the Diaz Condit fight he was pumping condit the enitre fight but then he came out afterwards and said once he watched the fight again he thought Diaz won. It is a tough job to commentate a fight when everything is happenign so quickly byut hes gotta tighten up

Rogan has been with the UFC since the earlier days. He isn’t going anywhere. He’ll be in the UFC HOF as an announcer, so you guys complaining about him need to let it go.
Rampage insulting him is very typical of Rampage. Insults and poor satire he has had for years. He hasn’t performed well in the cage and has been more of an embarrassment than anything.
