Why is Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Welterweight villain Josh Koscheck "rooting against the recovery" of current division champion and surgically repaired Georges St. Pierre?
Probably because he's 0-2 against "Rush," and knows the only way he can get another crack at the 170-pound crown is if someone else is wearing it.
From MMA Fighting:
"I'm interested in the outcome of the Diaz vs. Condit fight on Saturday night. Should be a good fight. Hopefully Georges is out for more than 10 months and they can make that Interim titleholder fight twice. Hopefully he never comes back. ACL surgeries can take a lot out of you. They say you truly don't recover after those. I've had friends who have had those and they say they're not the same so hopefully it equals out the playing field and we can get another crack at Georges."
Koscheck can slowly inch his way back into title contention with a win over venerable up-and-comer Mike Pierce on the UFC 143: "Diaz vs. Condit" pay-per-view (PPV) fight card this Saturday night (Feb. 4) at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Couldn’t have said it better myself. Kos is a piece of crap and was all hype by the UFC. Pretty tacky to wish someone is injured for life just so you can be relevant. Kos, Chael and Bisping all need to go away together, all useless for MMA. Dumb shits.

Then we can watch GSP snipe his bad eye for 5 rounds again. I’m sure there are lots of guys that don’t want GSP back in the mix;

Diaz doesn’t like to fight wrestlers, he doesn’t like that style of fighting. He has said that many times. So now if GSP is gone he can stick to fighting non title holding strikers which I’m sure he prefers anyhow.

You guys get too emotional,
these fighters are professionals, it’s not a matter of being scared of another individual, I guarantee if they offered Koscheck another shot at GSP he would take it instantly. The reason he doesn’t want GSP coming back is because it is extremely unlikely that he would be offered a 3rd fight against GSP having gone 0-2. On the otherhand, if Conduit or Diaz are the champ, Koscheck all of a sudden is near the top of the list as a contender for the title.
When a fighter says something in poor taste I usually forward it to UFC’s customer service e-mail to make sure it is addressed and they are either fined or fired, depending on how severe.

ive had full ACL surgery and can honestly say that you can recover fully as i have
i dont even notice the difference between the two, as long as he does the right things he can get back to where he was easy

probably as im no elite athlete, but yet i still play football full 11 a side matches 3 times a week go to the gym everyday and occasionally do some mma training

I wouldn't miss GSP if he never came back
no GSP = more finishes at 170#‘s. Rather see him in grappling competitions where he doesn’t have to rely on his KO power to finish people. Ya, I said it.

The problem with this fight
Kos is definitely the better wrestler he has the best takedown skills in the 170lb division a few pts better wrestling wise than GSP. KO’s is also bigger and stronger than Pierce, I like Story, Pierce, Hendricks, Brenneman but they are the average size 170lbrs in the UFC.
It’s like they’re should be a 161 lb weight class for these guys, I actually think Pierce at 5’8’ can go to 155lbs as he shows some fat at 170lbs, however they’ll be to fast for him down there but he should have a strength advantage
I think Pierce’s hands are a tad overrated.. but at +205 he’s worth a small bet
