Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) today (Feb. 16, 2012) made their presence felt in the "Peach State" to help promote the upcoming UFC 145 pay-per-view (PPV) event headlined by a light heavyweight title fight featuring former training partners and bitter rivals Jon Jones and Rashad Evans.
"Bones" and "Suga" squared off at the conclusion of today's pre-fight press conference and as with many face-offs in the past, the champ looks like he can hardly be bothered with his opponent.
Expect that to change on fight night.
UFC 145: "Jones vs. Evans" goes down on April 21, 2012, from the Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, and will also feature a welterweight match-up pitting rising star Rory MacDonald against British banger Che Mills. Heavyweights Brendan Schaub and Ben Rothwell are also scheduled to collide.

I like guys like Page, yea he’s playin to the camera, but that is Rampage, that’s his personality. He lets himself come through, Jones is just a straight up fake. When he says “I respect this guy, I really have a lot of admiration for this guy.” It’s a blatant lie. After the Hamil fight, what’s the first thing he did? Apologize to the fans for losing a fight. That was a pre-prepared speech, ready to go in the event of a loss, didn’t address the DQ at all, just gave his canned apology that he had ready to go.
I could go on but it comes down to this, some guys you want to root for and see them win and some guys you don’t. You can’t tell me why I don’t like the guy, I just told you exactly why I think he’s fake, disingenuine and he’s arrogant.

none of us truly have any fucking clue who or what the guy is all about other than kicking ass, which he does quite well. I will bitch and moan on here, as that is the mania way…..but I love watching the guy fight and that is all that should matter.

That what makes us true fans. We get to know the fighter’s personality, which gets us more invested in the fights. If we didn’t get to see the personality side of fighters it wouldn’t be as exciting or dramatic.

I won’t throw on tons of hate towards you… I don’t know JBJ is fake… for all I know he is generally that douchey and full of himself. But he acts as though he is above the rest of the world. Spouts about humility and Christ… then on Fox “What’s the best thing for Evans” response : “To not fight me” I think that was genuine… a glimpse of his inflated opinion of himself. I just hope that he gets fugured out… specifically I hate Rashad for similar reasons, but I think that Rashad is a genuine dick… so I don’t like him, but because it’s sincere I can respect him. I hope that Rashad drops JBJ… then gets blasted by Hendo… then JBJ gets a shot and gets shut down like a bank on a Sunday.

Why the select few people who like Jones actually like him. Hes like the cocky star player on the high school football team. hes obviously the star player and has some serious talent but forgets about everyone who helped him get there, goes all delusional thanking god instead of his team and family and becomes so full of himself that he forgets what having a normal conversation is…. Every word that comes out of this guys mouth is either words of inspiration that nobody asked for, or some sort of braggart remark about hes above or better than someone else.

Well yeah
Hes really good. no question there. seems to me that most people outside of the mma world (bar scene,primarily football,baseball, basketball fans) have picked him as the best fighter in the world. hes an incredible person and to each his own, but i’m not a fan based on his complete lack of respect of other fighters and disregard for their attributes or accomplishments.

Anderson, Fedor, GSP, Overeem, Ben Henderson, Frankie Edgar, Jose Aldo to name a few….and the first 4 guys I mentioned get hated on regardless

The man is a beast, who in his career has given him any trouble? Who in his weight class has more dynamic striking? better wrestling? Does Shogun? Lyoto? Bader? Further more, twice now he’s helped random strangers and asked nothing in return. So he dumped Rampage on his head and dropped Lyoto on his face. He gets cocky in the ring but outside of it he’s a gentleman. Asd for signing autographs as “champion 2011” did he back that up or not? I’m a JBJ fan because I can count on him to be exciting in the cage. Same reason I like shogun lyoto and rampage.

his striking is only “dynamic” because of his reach, Ive seen plenty of guys do spinning back fists and roundhouse kicks, its flashy and people take notice so hes amazing right?? Machida was giving him trouble on his feet.. is Machida better no probably not. if you scaled up half the wrestlers to Jones size they would be as good. Jones physical gifts are the main reason hes “so much better” than everyone else. He has good trips and take downs but without all that reach he wouldn’t be as affective as he is.. but I know you cant knock down because hes so much bigger than everyone else.. he was born huge and uses his height reach and balance to his advantage.. thats not the argument here.. Im a fan of him as a fighter hes exciting to watch.. Im not a fan of him because hes a total DICK BUNT outside of the cage

your point being? that struve is 982 ft tall and got knocked out by Nelson? how does that validate anything Jones does?? obviously he knows how to use his reach I didn’t really specify that but I also didn’t think I needed to seeing as its OBVIOUS. Back to my post.. Hes not any more dynamic than the mid to top tier strikers in the ufc.. His REACH is the advantage here not the fact that he knows how to use it.. Loyoto had a very noticeable reach disadvantage but “Jones Bad ass skill of knowing how to use it” didnt really help him did it? he had to switch to other tools to beat Loyoto, which is fine hes obviously a better fighter having the Other skills to beat him. my point is.. if you made other “Dynamic strikers” as big as Jones it would show you that hes not necessarily any better then the guys that everyone thinks hes better than. same with his wrestling.. hes more physically gifted then anyone hes going to face at LHW. he has this “untouchable status” because people associate his size with how good he is.. if you watch him fight he has become more comfortable but hes not nearly as good as he will become someday. the guy has serious natural talent but hasn’t grown into what he will become some day.
