UFC on FOX 3: Josh Koscheck vs Johny Hendricks booked for May 5 in New Jersey
Add another one.
The UFC on Fox 3 event scheduled for May 5, 2012, at the IZOD Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey, has added another big fight for its main card to be broadcast on network television.
As announced by UFC President Dana White on Twitter, Josh Koscheck will attempt to avenge the defeat of his friend and training partner, Jon Fitch, when he takes on Johny Hendricks.
Koscheck is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Mike Pierce at UFC 143 this past Sat., Feb. 4, 2012, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He wasn't exactly impressive but a win is a win and it puts him in position to do what his buddy Fitch could not.
If he's able to.
Hendricks is no pushover, as evidenced by his win over Fitch. It's not only the fact that he managed to become just the second man to defeat the perennial top contender inside the Octagon it's that he did so by knockout.
In 12 seconds.
Add that to his already impressive 7-1 resume with the UFC and this fight makes dollars and sense. But who takes it, Maniacs?
UFC on FOX 3 takes place on May 5 in New Jersey and will be headlined by a lightweight number one contender bout pitting Nate Diaz vs. Jim Miller. Heavyweights Pat Barry and Lavar Johnson are also set to square off on the night's main card.
Koscheck vs. Pierce will presumably join them on the network TV telecast.

Very nice
Wonder if it’ll stick if Ellenberger loses.
Tito Ortiz = BJ Penn = Overrated, excuse-making frontrunner
Fitch clearly won round 2 and the fight against Penn
Sonnen clearly won round 1 and the fight against Bisping
The shambler called it
Cant waittttttttt

Here's to the end of Koscheck's career
*cues video loop/montage of josh and bobby southworth spraying water from a hose on leben, koscheck getting taken down by gsp, gsp stuffing koscheck’s takedowns, the phantom eye pokes, the phantom knee with Paul daley, getting jabbed in the eye again.. *

I'd expect Ellenberger to get a title shot against Condit if he wins.

Same here
I thought that the original fight should have been scored a draw anyway (if 2 knockdowns isn’t worth a 10-8 round then nothing is) and both men are undefeated since that fight. Since Nick blew it and GSP isn’t coming back anytime soon this is the fight that needs to happen if Jake beats Diego.
Always a Nick Diaz fan, losing a close fight to Carlos Condit does not mean that you were overrated. And utilising a smart strategy to win a fight does not mean that you're scared.

Fuck gsp!
No1 outside canada wants 2 watch that fag fight.
Generals gathered in their masses
Just like witches at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerer of death's construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds
Not true d*locc
GSP has two types of fans.
Canadians and homos.
So yes, someone with the name “GSP’sNutts” is indeed a fag. No surprises here…

Nice, got my wish. Should be a great fight. Winner of this fight faces the winner of Ellenberger vs Sanchez, winner of that fight faces Condit.
nah
Ellen against Condit now
Even tho I initially acted like a small child, I have been forced to come to my senses. enzo-enormous is better at calling fights than I am, by far. I am a little immature but am working on it. Also, I love dudes and cant wait to get a reach around from the 209

although according to retard mma fan logic that would make Ellen and conduit 1-1
Since everyone was saying the same thing about a Diaz rematch

Jake has grown, not doubt . .
but if you look at Condit since that fight, he has also . . . would be a KO to Condit if they fought again.
If Condit gets a finish it'll be a submission not a KO
Ellenberger seems to have a great chin and has proven power in his hands, the reason he lost the fight to Condit was because he gassed after the first round and was outgrappled each time he took Carlos down. Against Rocha his BJJ and cardio were both lacking and almost cost him that fight as well. I don’t see Carlos being able to hurt Jake on the feet but I do see him tiring Jake out and taking advantage of a sloppy takedown attempt to choke him out, especially if the fight is a 5 rounder.

Kos takes this. Yea kos has just one punch and all that other shit his haters are saying. But kos tasted the skill of a young up and comer and BEAT HIM. I like hendricks he is a great fighter and love how he sent fitch to the back of the line but kos is going to win. If he does get into trouble standing up he will resort to wrestling and even if he can’t get a take down at first try he will keep going for it and pressure up against the cage. Kos is a hot head but he is a beast and i see him getting his shot at condit before anyone else does
by zesotheclown on Feb 12, 2012 8:28 PM EST via mobile reply actions
who? mike pierce?
kos only just beat him on a very close split decision, and he should’ve lost a point form that eye poke after getting a warning and then still doing it.
Still see kos winning. Is like hendricks to win so there can be some new contenders but i just don’t see him winning this easily like the way people are saying

I have to agree
the only way I see john taking this is by early stoppage, I pick kos to weather the storm

hendricks beats Ko's
I’ve been hanging on Hendricks nuts ever since he beat Pierce and Hendricks hands have gotten even better and his wrestling will look sharp… I just wish Hendricks was a little bigger n taller for a 170lbr. However he rips Ko’s up on his feet and Kos will have an extremely difficult time taking down. Hopefully Hendricks is +130 or more

Agreed with most of you folks above.
Koscheck is probably in for a long night or a short nap.
Forget it Donny, you're out of your element.
A short nap
First round ko. Hendricks is to strong, to fast and still young and fresh.

Hoping for the nap option myself
Mania is not quite Mania without Dakatak. Come back soon, Dak.
Please copy this sig if you agree.
Hope he has a long nap.

Would be cool to see Hendricks KO Kos.
fitch has a close fight with pierce and wins,
later gets KO’d by Hendricks.

KOS :-)

koscheck by eye poke
it’s all he’s got to do apparently since he’s always able to stick a finger in his opponents ey socket. He def takes the W if Herb refs.
Btw fuck Josh Koscheck
Here is a rule of thumb from Chinese martial arts: Hard strikes soft, soft strikes hard. In other words - use hard weapons (fists, albows, knees, fingertips) on soft targets like muscles, torso, eyes etc. Use soft weapons (palm, sole of the foot) to strike hard targets like the head, elbows and knees, and other bony surfaces.

The feast is over for Nick Diaz. No longer will he dine on mediocre fighters from lesser promotions. With a future promising fights against GSP, Condit, Fitch, Kos, MacDonald, Ellenberger, Alves, Hendricks and Sanchez, you probably should retire. Don’t be scared, Homie.
I’m taking Hendricks in this one I think koschecks time is passing him up.
by 505mmacity on Feb 12, 2012 10:55 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Yessssss
This is exactly who I wanted Hendricks to face after what he did to Jon Fitch, if he wins against Koscheck impressively he should go against Ellenberger if he isn’t scheduled to fight anyone
if he wins consecutively over Fitch and Koscheck
he should leap over Elleberger in the title picture.
I promise not to post anymore fat chick or poop gifs.

Awesome fight
Johny deserves a big fight after making quick work of Fitch (something nobody has done since a 205lb Wilson Gouveia back before Jon was training full-time) and Kos is a big name, a top contender and at this point a very beatable opponent. I’ve not been impressed by Josh’s last few performances, he was outclassed by GSP, was getting outjabbed by a past it Matt Hughes and looked woefully one dimensional before squeaking a split decision against Mike Pierce.
Aside from the Rick Story fight, Johny has looked great in the UFC showcasing one punch KO power and excellent offensive and defensive wrestling. He is coming off a huge win and has never been so confident while Kos has been talking about taking big money fights and doesn’t seem to have the same fire as he did before losing the rematch to GSP. If Kos continues to drop his left hand and leave easy openings for a counter because he’s only concerned with landing an overhand right then he’s in for a quick and painful night. This will be the fight that firmly establishes Johny as a top contender in my opinion and will see the end of Kos as a top ranked fighter.
Always a Nick Diaz fan, losing a close fight to Carlos Condit does not mean that you were overrated. And utilising a smart strategy to win a fight does not mean that you're scared.
