The UFC handed out its usual three bonus awards to fighters coming out of the UFC on Fox 5: "Henderson vs. Diaz" event last night (Sat., Dec. 8, 2012) in Seattle, Washington, and all three were more than deserving.
UFC on Fox 5: "Henderson vs. Diaz" from the KeyArena in Seattle, Washington, has officially wrapped, which means it's time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $65,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's headed home with a second sack of simoleons.
"Knockout of the Night" honors went to Yves Edwards, who absolutely annihilated Jeremy Stephens in the first round of their lightweight affair. A true one hitter quitter.
Scott Jorgensen double dipped, taking home both "Submission of the Night" and "Fight of the Night" honors for his stunning first round rear-naked choke submission victory. He locked it on, flattened Albert out, and forced him to take a brief nap.
Well worth it for that extra $130,000.
Here are the special fight bonuses for UFC on Fox 5:
Submission of the Night -- Scott Jorgensen
Knockout of the Night -- Yves Edwards
Fight of the Night -- Scott Jorgensen vs. John Albert
Again, each fighter received $65,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
