UFC 155 bonuses and awards: Jim Miller vs. Joe Lauzon take ‘Fight of the Night' honors

USA TODAY Sports

The UFC handed out its usual three bonus awards to fighters coming out of the UFC 155: "Dos Santos vs. Velasquez 2" event last night (Sat., Dec. 29, 2012) in Las Vegas, Nevada, and all three were more than deserving.

UFC 155 is in the books from Las Vegas, Nevada, and as usual, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced the night's winners for "Fight of the Night," "Knockout of the Night," and "Submission of the night."

All five fighters who received bonuses were awarded an additional $65,000 for their standout efforts.

"Fight of the Night" went to Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon for their thrilling three-round battle that resulted in a unanimous decision victory for Miller. Both fighters went all out for the duration of what was one of the bloodiest contests in UFC history. Even though he lost the fight, Lauzon tied UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva for most post-fight bonuses in UFC history at 12.

"Knockout of the Night" was awarded to Todd Duffee for rattling Phil De Fries' brain with a massive series of right hands in the first round for their heavyweight contest which took place on the preliminary portion of the card.

"Submission of the Night," by default, was awarded to John Moraga for his third-round guillotine choke of Chris Cariaso in the opening fight of the UFC 155 fight card. Moraga was the only fighter on the card to make his opponent tap out, which was good enough to receive the bonus.

Here's a final recap of the UFC 155 post-fight bonus winners:

Fight of the Night - Jim Miller vs. Joe Lauzon

Knockout of the Night - Todd Duffee

Submission of the Night - John Moraga

Again, each fighter received $65,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.
