Yes, I'm going to continue the fine tradition of stealing ideas from other maniacs. I think I'm stealing this from OJR, but then, he probably stole it from someone else. Anyway, AK and I were talking video games in his Christmas thread, so I figured it was post worthy.
Here are some of my favorite games... ever.
1
Easily my favorite game ever, and it turned me into an RPG fanatic. Shit, I want the symbol on the front as a tattoo someday.

In my opinion, the best stealth game ever. The story was phenomenal, the boss fights awesome, and shit, you could eat snakes! Naked Snake's mission remains my favorite of the MGS series, and is pretty much universally regarded as the greatest PS2 game ever.
Fun fact: General Mrosko has a picture of Snake as his profile pic on Mania.

Mass Effect is one of the greatest Sci-fi game series ever, and in my opinion the first was the best. Two and three were excellent, but a weak plot and terrible ending, lower them below the original.

An excellent post-apocalyptic RPG, Bethesda rarely disappoints and came through big with this master piece.

A damn good game in its own right, but there were a few flaws in my mind. The biggest issue I had with Skyrim, was that the faction quests(fighters guild, mages guild etc) weren't as deep as Oblivion's, nor did it even have an Arena. It also had a major issue where a majority of the quests felt the same: set up, go into dungeon, kill draugrs, and go back to quest giver. Repeat.
There's my current top 5, but I think Far Cry 3 has a serious chance to claim a spot this Tuesday.
Oh, and here's some great old games that I play when feeling nostalgic.
Sure the graphics are horrible looking by modern perspective, it is on FOUR disks, and the title looks like a spelling error, but this PS1 classic had a great story and was one of the best turn based combat games ever.

Although this game never got any acclaim or fame, I can confirm that it is fun as shit. A racing game where you ride bikes(or farm animals if you played long enough) down a mountain and hit your opponents with your fists, feet, sticks, and then peg them with bottles. If you ever see this on the 5 dollar rack at your local game store, pick it up.
Now maniacs, do what we do best: talk about ourselves.
