"The Predator" stopped hunting at 185 pounds and will try his luck in another stacked division when he battles a "Vicious" Strikeforce import at UFC 158 next March in Montreal.
Former middleweight number one contender Patrick Cote will make his welterweight debut at UFC 158 when he takes on Bobby Voelker as part of the "St. Pierre vs. Diaz" pay-per-view (PPV) event booked for the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on March 16, 2013.
The UFC brass made the match official earlier today.
Looks the the disqualification win for "The Predator" stands.
Cote (18-8) is 1-1 since returning to the Octagon earlier this year. After going down on points to Cung Le at UFC 148, he was able to survive a coconut-cracking offense from Sakara at UFC 154, one that got the former Italian boxer fouled out for illegal blows.
Voelker (24-8) is coming off three straight victories under the Strikeforce banner, two of which were technical knockout wins over Roger Bowling. The "Vicious" one may have the advantage of being a 170-pound veteran, but he's been out of action for over a year.
Who ya' got?
UFC 158 will feature "unfinished business" between reigning welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre and division bad boy Nick Diaz, while Johny Hendricks tries to keep himself at the top of the contender's list by slugging it out with Jake Ellenberger.
In addition, Rory MacDonald will try to move to the head of the class at the expense of former division number one contender Carlos Condit in a rematch from their UFC 115 battle, which "The Natural Born Killer" won by way of third round technical knockout.
