Frank Mir on injury - 'had the wrong shoes on that day'

Frank Mir and Daniel Cormier were all set to do battle two months ago. Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight champion against current Strikeforce heavyweight champion. That was until Frank Mir suffered a torn meniscus forcing him to pull out of the bout eventually sending the entire event up in flames.

Frank Mir is still more than happy to face Cormier in the UFC, but just when you think you've heard it all. Frank Mir gives us a breakdown of what he was doing when his injury occurred.

Mir on the injury that caused him to pull out of his November 3rd fight with Daniel Cormier

"You know through training really difficult for the fight couple maneuvers we were doing plyometrics and whatnot I guess stepped wrong, kinda had the wrong shoes on I think that day. I wasn't going to skip training and ended up slicing my meniscus on my other leg, that was the good knee so just had to go in and have it pulled out."

Anyone still interested in the fight? Who will Frank Mir be put against with most heavyweights already booked?
