Super Bowl weekend continues to look more and more exciting, as the world's leading mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion is working behind-the-scenes to add another marquee match up to a potentially stacked UFC 156 card in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Feb. 2, 2013.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fans have much to look forward to in the early going of 2013. That is, of course, assuming that fight cards can hold up and the fighters can stay away from injuries (and motorcycles).

One fight card in particular has just received a boost, as the word came ( via "MMA Uncensored Live") that Dan Henderson vs. Lyoto Machida has reportedly been added to the UFC 156 card, which will take place in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Super Bowl weekend (Feb. 2, 2013).

Here's what "Hendo" had to say during his recent appearance on the Spike TV MMA-themed show:

"I can tell you what I know. I was told that it should be Super Bowl weekend, February 2nd. But, who knows? Until it's a done deal -- I've been told things before that didn't necessarily come true."

The news doesn't sound exactly concrete, but Henderson feels as confident as he can in the date, and he's already back in the gym preparing for "The Dragon:"

"The knee is getting better. It feels a lot tighter than it was. That was the biggest thing, the stability. But, I just started training last week, and it's feeling good."

His game plan is simple. Unlike some of Machida's past opponents who have let the crafty Brazilian dance around the cage, Henderson is resolved to the cut the cage off and bring the fight to Machida:

"Somebody like him, I think you really need to stay in his face. He runs around a lot, and he tries to pick at ya for a while, until he finally comes at ya. I think, if you stay in his face and make him fight, the whole fight, that's pretty much what my game plan would be."

In the meantime, Henderson will continue to get healthy and work on getting those "H-bombs" back in order, as he will certainly hope to plant one or two of them squarely on the chin of Machida (if he can catch him).

UFC 156 will be headlined by a title bout between Featherweight champion Jose Aldo and former Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. Also featured on the card will be a Light Heavyweight mash up between Rashad Evans and Antonio Rogerio Nogueira.

Additionally, Urijah Faber has been rumored to make his comeback to the cage on the same card, though an opponent has not yet been named.
