Two heavyweights with the desire to get back to their winning ways will face off at UFC on Fox 6 in Chicago, as Mike Russow, who doubles as a Chicago policeman, takes on Shawn Jordan. Both have fallen off with losses to more well known opponents, but they did have significant momentum before and they intend to get it back.

With the recent announcement of UFC on Fox 6, fight announcements have been coming in droves, and now it looks like we have another. MMA Weekly recently brought word that heavyweights Shawn Jordan and Mike Russow would face off at the televised event, which takes place at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Jan 26, 2013.

Russow -- who currently doubles as both a fighter and "Windy City" cop -- was on an impressive 11-fight win streak heading into his UFC 147 bout against top 10 heavyweight Fabricio Werdum. He was best known for his come-from-behind knockout victory over Todd Duffee, and was thought to be a promising up-and-comer in the 265-pound division.

Unfortunately, his momentum was killed at the hands of "Vai Cavalo," who made quick work of him in front of a Brazilian audience. That loss took a lot from Russow, who had never lost by technical knockout before, and he is definitely looking to get back on track in the UFC.

With a win over Shawn Jordan at UFC on Fox 6, he could begin to work his way back up to where he was. And what could be better than a win in your hometown?

Jordan, an athletic heavyweight who trains with Greg Jackson, was also coming along nicely before his most recent loss. Though he went 1-1 in his short time in Strikeforce, Jordan was impressive in his Octagon debut, putting away the durable Oli Thompson with a barrage of strikes in the second round.

His momentum quickly turned to nothing, however, when he faced Cheick Kongo at UFC 149. Not only did he come up short, but the fight was a complete snoozer in which Jordan had few -- if any -- moments of success. The fight was what horrible fights should be measured upon, and Jordan seriously needs to show that he can be a force at heavyweight after that.

We shall see.

UFC on FOX 6 will feature a 125-pound world title fight between flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson in the main event of the evening, with a rumored match up between top lightweight contenders Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis also expected to hook 'em on the nationally-televised main card.
