Originally booked for UFC 155, the featherweight fight of Erik Koch vs. Ricardo Lamas has now been pushed to the UFC on FOX 6 event on Jan. 26 in Chicago.

Looks like the winner of Frankie Edgar vs. Jose Aldo will already have their next challenger in the queue.

That's because Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), via Chicago Sun Times, has gone and paired the former number one contender, Erik Koch, against another streaking up-and-comer, Ricardo Lamas. The duo will battle at the promotion's upcoming UFC on FOX 6 network television event scheduled for the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Jan. 26, 2013.

They were originally rumored to be facing off at UFC 155 in December.

Koch (13-1) was already scheduled to fight Aldo at the UFC 149 event earlier this year; however, "New Breed" was felled by injury and forced to bow out of the Canadian contest. The Iowan is the winner of four straight and has already disposed of Raphael Assuncao and Jonathan Brookins since transitioning to the Octagon in early 2011.

But he's got his work cut out for him.

Lamas (12-2) rebounded from a knockout loss to Yuri Alcantara by running through his next two opponents. He beat the brakes off Matt Grice in his UFC debut and followed that up by strangling Cub Swanson just a few months later. "The Bully" was last seen pushing around Hatsu Hioki at UFC on FX 4 earlier this year in New Jersey.

Who moves to the head of the class in "The Windy City?"

UFC on FOX 6 will feature a 125-pound world title fight between flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson vs. John Dodson in the main event of the evening, with a rumored match up between top lightweight contenders Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis also expected to hook 'em on the nationally-televised main card.
