You may not recognize the names at first glance but you should.
They could very well be competing for an Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) title within the next year.
John Moraga, a top flight flyweight, has been booked to bang with Chris Cariaso at the UFC 155: "Dos Santos vs. Velasquez 2" event scheduled for Sat., Dec. 29, 2012, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
MMAWeekly.com brought word of the pending contest earlier today.
Moraga made a big splash in his Octagon debut by knocking out Ulysses Gomez at UFC on Fox 4 back on Aug. 4. The victory put him at 11-1 in his three year career with his lone loss coming to John Dodson in Dec. 2010.
That's the same John Dodson who will be challenging for the 125-pound championship early next year.
Cariaso, meanwhile, had won consecutive bouts at bantamweight before dropping down to flyweight where he earned a unanimous decision victory over Josh Ferguson back in July. Considering the current lack of depth in the division, these two could be battling for a spot at the top of the food chain.
UFC 155 will feature Junior dos Santos defending his heavyweight strap against the man he took the belt from, Cain Velasquez. Other match-ups booked for the show include Forrest Griffin vs. Phil Davis, Alan Belcher vs. Yushin Okami, and Chris Leben vs. Karlos Vemola.
