UFC light heavyweight Thiago Silva has failed his UFC on FUEL TV 6 post-fight drug test. The Brazilian tested positive for marijuana metabolites and has been suspended six-months by the UFC and must participate in a rehabilitation program.

For the second time in his Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) career, Thiago Silva has failed a post-fight drug test.

The light heavyweight fighter was flagged for marijuana metabolites following his UFC on FUEL TV 6 bout against Stanislav Nedkov and as a result, will be suspended six-months proactive to the day of the Nov. 10 and will be required to participate in a drug rehabilitation program.

UFC officials confirmed the news via a press release on Wednesday evening.

"Thiago Silva tested positive for marijuana metabolites following his bout at UFC on FUEL TV in Macau," the UFC statement reads."The UFC organization has a strict, consistent policy against the use of any illegal and/or performance-enhancing drugs, stimulants or masking agents. Silva has admitted to taking the banned substance and has agreed to participate in an approved drug-rehabilitation program and serve a six-month suspension retroactive to the November 10 event. He must pass a drug test upon completion of the suspension before receiving clearance to fight again."

Silva is the second fighter that will be forced to participate in rehabilitation for marijuana, the first being Dave Herman, who also tested positive for marijuana metabolites at UFC 153 last month.

The Brazilian was caught submitting a falsified urine sample to the Nevada State Athletic Commission at UFC 125 in Nov. 2011. Silva's win over Brandon Vera at the event was overturned, he was suspended for one-year and was forced to give up 25 percent of his purse.

MMA Junkie reports Silva's win over Nedkov will be overturned and changed to "No Contest."
