Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva is undefeated inside the Octagon (16-0) since his stateside arrival back in 2006, finishing a ridiculous 88 percent of his opponents in the 185- and 205-pound divisions.
And, for the most part, he's made it look like a walk in the park.
Silva, 37, is at the tail-end of his illustrious mixed martial arts (MMA) career, so he's not about to "waste" his limited time with potential number one division contenders like Chris Weidman if, instead, he can tie a "super" ribbon around his legendary, Hall of Fame-worthy run.
First stop, UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre.
"Rush" -- who is fresh of a solid performance against Carlos Condit at UFC 154 in a winning effort -- has been targeted by the Brazilian, as well as UFC President Dana White, as a dreamy adversary. The French-Canadian has had quite the impressive reign himself in the 170-pound division, winning eight straight since reclaiming the belt back in 2008.
However, St. Pierre is considerably shorter, as well as lighter than Silva. In addition, he's about six years younger, with lots of time left on his career clock, and he doesn't appear as eager to sign his name on the dotted line for a Silva super fight.
Despite all of this, St. Pierre opened as just a slight underdog -- +150 (3/2) -- earlier today in a potential showdown with the favorite, Silva -- -160 (5/8). It's expected that if it did come to fruition that the non-title, "super fight" would be contested anywhere from 175 to 180 pounds; however, St. Pierre's trainer would prefer a Welterweight match up to keep it "fair."

So much for this being a one-sided affair in which Silva would most likely win because he is "too big" and St. Pierre is "kinda getting beat up a lot lately."
On the contrary, it will turn out to be a close fight that will happen in 2013 at Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Texas.
