It's a sad day for MMA fans as both Stephan Bonnar and Dave Herman tested positive in their UFC 153 drug tests. Find out more details inside.

Stop the presses.

Word has just come out that of all the fighters tested at last month's UFC 153 event in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, two fighters have failed their drug tests.

And they're both repeat offenders.

Both Stephan Bonnar and Dave Herman failed their drug screenings, Bonnar tested positive for Drostanolone, an anabolic steroid while Herman tested positive for marijuana metabolites.

Bonnar and Herman both came up short in their bouts against Anderson Silva and Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira respectively so there are no wins to overturn.

If you remember, this isn't the first time Bonnar has failed a steroid test. He also tested positive for the steroids Boldenone following his rematch against Forrest Griffin at UFC 62 in 2006. Perhaps that's why he was so quiet about his retirement from mixed martial arts, letting Dana White make the announcement for him earlier this week.

Herman also had issues with a pre-fight drug sample which forced the cancellation of his UFC 136 fight against Mike Russow, although the results were eventually thrown out.

Because this was an event held in Brazil, the tests were administered by the UFC instead of a state athletic commission. The UFC is expected to dish out its own suspensions shortly.

We'll have more on this wild and crazy breaking story as updates follow. Stay tuned.
