Bellator 79 results and LIVE video stream for 'Hale vs Santos' TONIGHT (Nov. 2) on MTV2

MMAmania.com will be providing live video stream and round-by-round coverage of Bellator 79 tonight, which features two season seven tournament semifinal bouts in the heavyweight and featherweight divisions.

Bellator Fighting Championships returns TONIGHT (Nov. 2, 2012) to Casino Rama in Rama, Ontario, Canada, with the two separate season seven tournament semifinal bouts.

MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of Bellator 79 below, beginning with the MTV2 telecast at 8 p.m. ET. In addition, we'll deliver up-to-the-minute quick results of all the undercard action much earlier in the evening (beginning at 6:00 p.m.) as well as a live stream of all the action.

Headlining the main event of Bellator 79 will be a season seven heavyweight tournament semifinal match-up pitting former light heavyweight stand-out Richard Hale against season five heavyweight finalist Thiago Santos.

Also appearing on the card will be a featherweight season seven semifinal battle between top prospects Mike Richman and talented Russian Shahbulat Shamhalaev. All four men advanced to the semifinals after first round victories in the quarterfinals.

Rounding out the event will be a pair of welterweight fights featuring potential season eight tournament fighters as Bellator season five welterweight tournament winner Douglas Lima takes on Jacob Ortiz and former MFC standout Ryan Ford battles gritty Appalachian fighter Kyle Baker.

265 lbs.: Richard Hale vs. Thiago Santos

Round one: Both men posturing early and Santos scores with a huge left hand over the top. He hurt Hale and he presses forward scoring with some heavy shots. Santos attempts a standing guillotine but Hale slips free. Santos continues to press forward and he lands some big blows on the feet again, scoring a takedown along the fence. Santos lands a big right hand as Hale works his way to his feet but Santos again is working for the takedown in the clinch. The ref separates both men and they reset. Santos looks much slower already and Hale lands a heavy right hand. Santos drops down and Hale is pouring on a huge flurry of punches. Santos just turtles and is not fighting back as Hale continues a flurry of punches on the ground until the ref steps in. Wow.

Final Result: Richard Hale defeats Thiago Santos via TKO at 3:31 of round one

145 lbs.: Mike Richman vs. Shahbulat Shamhalaev

Round one: Richman flashes a few jabs and both men fire off extremely quick punches in the pocket. Body kick from Richman is caught by Shamhalaev but he fails to take advantage. Both men are in opposite stances and firing off lightning quick punches. Richman backs Shamhalaev into the fence but Shamhalaev rights off a HUGE right hand that floors Richman. Shamhalaev steps forward and drops an extra punch or two and the ref steps in and puts a stop to it.

Final Result: Shabulat Shamhalaev defeats Mike Richman via knockout at 1:45 of round one

180 lbs.: Douglas Lima vs. Jacob Ortiz

Round one: Ortiz opens up with an awkward stance as Lima fires off some head kicks. Lima stuffs a takedown attempt from Ortiz and fires off some right hands. Ortiz has his hands down near his sides and Lima presses forward and launches a huge right hand which drops Ortiz. Short elbows from Lima on top position and he advances to full mount. Ortiz turtles and gives up his back but Lima is all over him. He's got Ortiz flattened out and is postured up dropping punches. Lima thinks about the choke but Ortiz fends it off for now. Lima again attacks with a rear naked choke but Ortiz hangs on and actually rolls Lima over and takes top position on the ground. Ortiz tries to posture up and drop a punch but Lima lands a heavy up kick which helps him get back to his feet. Lima steps forward with a heavy right hand a knee against the fence as time expires. 10-9 Lima

Round two: Ortiz presses forward early but he can't land any significant offense. Nice right hand from Lima as Ortiz wings right hands from the outside. Big body kick from Lima and he scores a heavy right hand. Ortiz is firing off very ineffective shots on the outside and he eats a flurry of blows from Lima which briefly rock him. Lima's defense is superb so far and a big left hand scores for The Phenom. Ortiz wings some punches during the flurry and scores a few shots during the exchange. Straight left lands for Lima and a heavy leg kick chops Ortiz down. Ortiz turtles and Lima has a front head lock. Lima thinks about an anaconda choke but gives up on it. Ortiz pops back to his feet and hunts for a takedown along the fence but Lima land a monstrous knee and blasts Ortiz with a huge flurry of strikes right at the end of the round. 10-8 Lima

Round three: The doctor allows Ortiz to continue and Lima goes back to work, landing a knee and a solid couple jabs. Ortiz has his hands low again at his sides and he's just asking to get knocked out. Big right hand from Lima and a left jab, now a thudding leg kick. Ortiz looks like he can barely stand. Big kick lands for Lima and pair of left jabs and then another. Lima should be able to finish this fight if he turns it on. Head kick from Lima just misses. Big right hand from Lima and a body kick to the back as Ortiz turns away. Lima continues stalking and scores with a leg kick. Ortiz's face is a bloody mess. Huge right hand scores for Lima and a head kick connects. Ortiz goes down along the fence and Lima swarms him with punches as the referee puts a stop to it.

Final Result: Douglas Lima defeats Jacob Ortiz via TKO at 4:50 of round three

170 lbs.: Ryan Ford vs. Kyle Baker

Round one: Baker takes the cage center and fires off a body kick. Ford takes the center back and steps forward with a huge flurry of strikes, landing some solid shots on the inside. They clinch and Ford takes Baker down along the fence and drops some punches. Baker thinks about an armbar but gives up on it. Ford now passes to half guard but Baker retains full guard. Baker walks his legs up hunting for a submission but Ford backs off and then drops down with a huge right hand again. Baker has some swelling and blood near his right eye. Another heavy ground and pound strike and Baker turtles. They stand and Ford swarms Baker with heavy punches but can't put him away for now. Baker pops to his feet but Ford quickly shoots in again for a takedown but Baker steps over and now he's surprisingly on top in side control. Ford scrambles back to his feet and lands a heavy knee as both men trade shots but Ford is landing with serious power. Somehow Baker is still standing and he stuffs a takedown from Ford in the closing seconds of the round. 10-8 Ford

Round two: The cageside physician gives the okay for Baker to continue and they go back to work. Big kick from Ford but Baker fires back with body shots in the clinch. Heavy leg kick from Ford and a nice left jab scores for him. Baker presses forward and clinches, stomping Ford's foot and dropping some right hands to the body and mixing it up to the head. The ref separates them and Ford scores with a nice inside right hand. Heavy knee and push kick scores for Ford and Baker clinches, throwing knees and punches on the inside. Big knee and dirty boxing from Baker on the inside and he changes levels for a takedown, getting it. Ford turtles and Baker attempts to take his back. Baker has a hook in and is dropping some nice punches from behind while thinking about a rear naked choke. Baker continues to drop left hands from behind but Ford rolls and turns into him with 30 seconds remaining. He can't do anything with the position as time expires. 10-9 Baker

Round three: Ford's on his bicycle early and he shoots in for a takedown but Baker wins the scramble and they go back to their feet. Baker now pressing the action with forward pressure and he avoids a takedown from Ford. Baker steps forward but gives up an opening for Ford to take him down. Ford is in top control in Baker's closed guard but he's just resting there. The ref stands them up and Ford again takes Baker down, eating an elbow from bottom. Baker works for an omaplata with rubber guard but Ford avoids danger and stays on top as Baker turtles. Baker scrambles and advances to top position, taking full mount on Ford with about two minutes left in the round. Baker has both hooks in as Ford gives up his back and he's hunting for a rear naked choke. Ford rotates his hips and turns into Baker, dropping punches but Baker responds from bottom. Ford drops hammer fists and ground and pound all the way to the final bell. 10-9 Ford

Final Result: Ryan Ford defeats Kyle Baker via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 30-27)
