It took just 46 seconds for Johny Hendricks to land a monster left hand and knock out Martin Kampmann in their welterweight number one contender bout at UFC 154 tonight (Nov. 17, 2012) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

The co-main event of the UFC 154: "St. Pierre vs. Condit" pay-per-view (PPV) event tonight (Sat., Nov. 17, 2012) at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, featured what was billed as a number one contender bout in the welterweight division.

Martin Kampmann and Johny Hendricks climbed the ladder enough within their weight class that they deserved the consideration, even if it may ultimately prove to be nothing more than a gimmick for an extra buy or two.

Well, maybe if one guy were impressive enough in victory, they might legitimately earn the shot.

Like Hendricks scoring a knockout in the first minute with a monster left hand that floored "The Hitman" and a huge follow up punch that put Kampmann out completely if he wasn't already.

Which he probably was.

Either way, "Big Rig" destroyed Kampmann's skull and firmly established himself as the top contender in the 170-pound division. Hell of a knockout.
