Pablo Garza earned himself a hard fought unanimous decision win over Mark Hominick in the main card opener of the UFC 154: "St. Pierre vs. Condit" pay-per-view tonight (Nov. 17, 2012) in Montreal.

The UFC 154: "St. Pierre vs. Condit" pay-per-view (PPV) kicked off its main card tonight (Sat., Nov. 17, 2012) in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, with a featherweight fracas pitting former title contender Mark Hominick against the always exciting Pablo Garza.

It was supposed to be a strong contender for "Fight of the Night" between two talented fighters who are as eager as can be to put on a show for fans. Both guys were also hoping to stop their losing streaks, three for Hominick and two for Garza, respectively.

Hominick was out quick, firing punches and kicks while Garza tried to keep him at distance. It didn't work, at least not at first. "The Machine" put a few shots on "The Scarecrow's" chin and made him pay for standing and trading.

That led to Garza clinching and trying for a takedown but Hominick dominated there too. Once they went back to the feet, Hominick hurt Garza with a punch and a knee and put him on the mat. But just like that, Garza recovered and landed a ton of blows of his own, opening up a big cut under the Canadian's eye.

He was pouring blood.

It wasn't bad enough to stop it and they went to round two, where Garza opened with a spinning flying captain insano kick that impressed the crowd but missed by a mile. He did end up getting superior position once they went to the ground, sitting in Hominick's open guard and teeing off.

He finished the round on top, having dominated the action.

Perhaps, then, it wasn't surprising when he did the same in the final frame, earning a takedown after about a minute and utilizing his superior position to score points while staying busy enough to avoid a stand up. Make no mistake, he was landing blows too, earning those points.

By the end, it was clear he was the better man. And now, Hominick is likely looking at losing his job after his fourth straight loss inside the Octagon.

Unless WAR, of course.
