UFC light heavyweight Igor Pokrajac steps in for the toe-jammed Anthony Perosh, battling Joey Beltran at the upcoming UFC on FX 6 fight card next month in Australia.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has made a light heavyweight switcheroo to its upcoming UFC on FX 6 fight card, currently scheduled for Dec. 15, 2012 at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Gold Coast, Australia.
Former heavyweight slugger Joey Beltran will continue his quest for success as a 205 pounder when he trades leather with late replacement Igor Pokrajac, as part of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) "Smashes" Finale, thanks to this untimely (and NSFW) injury to Anthony Perosh.
Beltran (14-8) made his return to the Octagon after shedding some skin on the regional circuit, but was picked apart by James Te Huna in an otherwise spirited affair at the UFC on FUEL TV 4 event back in July. The loss to the power-punching Aussie was his third straight under the ZUFFA banner.
A loss to Pokrajac would be his fourth and possibly his last.
"The Duke" (25-9) was trapped and tapped by 205-pound submission specialist Vinny Magalhaes in the second round of their UFC 152 battle last September. The loss to the former Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 8 runner-up snapped a three-fight winning streak dating back to Dec. 2010.
Can he return to form against "The Mexicutioner?"
UFC on FX 6 will feature a middleweight mash-up pitting hometown hero Hector Lombard against Brazilian bone cruncher Rousimar Palhares. In addition, TUF "Smashes" season will conclude its televised run with finales in both the lightweight and welterweight divisions.
