Dong Hyun Kim got back on the horse and rode it to a dominant unanimous decision victory over Paulo Thiago at UFC on FUEL TV 6 today (Nov. 10, 2012) in Macau, China.
The welterweights were in action today (Nov. 10, 2012) at UFC on FUEL TV 6: "Franklin vs. Le" in Macau, China, as Paulo Thiago looked to rebound from his last crushing knockout loss against Dong Hyun Kim, himself hoping to erase the painful memory of his last defeat, a TKO loss due to injury.
Who would prevail?
Early, it looked like Kim. Well known for his suffocating grappling, the Korean grabbed a quick takedown and transitioned to the Brazilian's back, where he worked to finish with the rear-naked choke.
He almost got it, too, but the bell saved Thiago from being forced to tap and admit defeat.
Of course, that was just the end of round one, giving Kim another 10 minutes to finish what he started. He dominated the second round just like he did the first, using superior position and control to stifle any offense Thiago had hoped to offer. And, like the first, he threatened with a late submission but couldn't get the finish.
Based on the first two rounds, you can guess how the third went.
Takedown, control, position, upset fans, boring fight, horn.
30-26, 30-27, and 30-27 were the final scores.
