Check out a complete "In Focus" video previewing the UFC on FUEL TV 6 main event bout pitting Rich Franklin in his return to 185-pounds to take on former Strikeforce champion Cung Le.
The main event of UFC on FUEL TV 6: "Franklin vs. Le," scheduled for Sat., Nov. 10, 2012, at the Cotai Arena in Cotai Strip, Macau, features Rich Franklin's return to the middleweight division to take on former Strikeforce champion Cung Le.
The story of the show is one of disinterest. The fight, though it should be fairly entertaining, hasn't received much of any hype. Both fighters aren't exactly considered contenders in the 185-pound division nor is it expected they will ever reach that point in their careers again.
So let's just be entertained?
There are other concerns. Franklin looked noticeably gaunt at the weigh-ins, which could simply be a product of the fact that we haven't seen him at this weight in since an April 2008 technical knockout victory over Travis Lutter.
Le, for his part, is dealing with a bum foot. He's been limping around all week, still injured enough that he's made it clear he would have pulled out by now if it was any other fight. Considering the run of luck UFC has had with injuries and his fight being the main event, his bowing out of the bout probably wouldn't have been a smart move for his career, or at least whatever is left of it.
Essentially, this is a free fight -- even if it runs live at freaking 10 in the morning or so -- between two talented fighters that present what should be an interesting style match-up.
Enjoy!
