Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) aired its traditional "Countdown" preview show for UFC 153: "Silva vs. Bonnar" on FUEL TV tonight (Oct. 9, 2012), featuring a behind-the-scenes look as current Middleweight champion, Anderson Silva, prepares to return to the Light Heavyweight division for a non-title, "fun" fight against Stephan Bonnar.
It's a surprise, short-notice Band-Aid for the UFC 153 main event that will take place from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this Saturday night (Oct. 13, 2012), because the original headliner -- Jose Aldo vs. Eric Koch (and then Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar) -- was scratched.

This edition of "Countdown" didn't actually spend too much time on Anderson Silva vs. Stephan Bonnar. The three-round 205-pound showdown got a healthy does of exposure, but considerable time was also spent on the other pay-per-view (PPV) main card bouts.
Indeed, the co-main event between Glover Teixeira vs. Fabio Maldonado received quite a bit of focus, particularly Teixeira's struggles to make his big league debut inside the Octagon.
In addition, we got a good look into the recovery of Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira as he returns from a broken wing to battle Dave Herman, as well as Jon Fitch's quest to return to the top of the division at the expense of perhaps its brightest prospect, Erick Silva.
