Scott Olmos-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

The injury bug has struck again, this time claiming Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold.

Strikeforce Middleweight Champion Luke Rockhold may have expected to defend his title against Ronaldo Souza but he was ready for Lorenz Larkin anyway. That's what he said in a recent interview.

Now, he won't have to worry about either.

That's because the champ has suffered a wrist injury that has knocked him out of the Strikeforce event on Nov. 3, 2012, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, according to MMAFighting.com.

That means both the main and co-main event have lost one of its competitors with Rockhold joining Frank Mir on the sidelines.

No replacement has been announced for Mir, who was scheduled to fight Daniel Cormier in the headlining bout, and there has also yet to be an announcement regarding a replacement for Rockhold.

With the way things have gone, don't be surprised if Showtime says they aren't interested and yet another Strikeforce event is cancelled.

Stay tuned.
