Yee-haw, Miesha's man is back!
MMA Weekly brings word that The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14 bantamweight finalist, T.J. Dillashaw has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout against Mike Easton at UFC on Fox 5. This marks the second injury to damage the card set for Dec. 8, 2012, at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington, and hopefully it is the last.
Dillashaw will be replaced by one of his TUF 14 cast mates, Bryan Caraway.
Caraway, the infamous current boyfriend of former Strikeforce Women's Bantamweight Champion, Miesha Tate, is fresh off a big victory over Mitch Gagnon at UFC 149. He is mostly a submission fighter, with 15 of his 17 wins coming via this method, and he utilizes the ground game to great effect.
With a win at UFC on Fox 5, he would put himself at a comfortable 3-0 inside the Octagon, which could help him rise up the rankings.
Easton, meanwhile, is currently on an eight-fight win streak and has done very well in the UFC so far. He made his debut at UFC on Versus 6 with a TKO victory over Byron Bloodworth, and has since put together two more wins over Jared Papazian and Ivan Menjivar, respectively.
His style dictates high pressure, but he can be hit or miss for exciting fights. After a relative snoozer against Menjivar in his last bout, let's hope we see a fun fight from "Hulk" in this outing.
UFC on FOX 5 is set for Key Arena in Seattle, and is locked and loaded with a lightweight championship match featuring Ben Henderson against Nate Diaz, a light-heavyweight bout between former champ Mauricio Rua and Alexander Gustafsson, and a prominent welterweight match between former champ B.J. Penn and rising star Rory MacDonald.
