This past Saturday I fought for Xtreme Combat Promotions at their event Rumble in Rutland. The event was held in Rutland, VT and featured 12 amateur fights and 2 pro fights.
I took the fight with less than 2 weeks notice and I felt really good leading up to it. I had no problem making weight, and I had no nagging injuries that I had to tend to as I was preparing for the fight. Though I won my first fight quite convincingly, I was a little let down by it because I was expecting to get into a fight.
This past Saturday, a fight is just what I got. No matter what I did, no matter how hard I hit him, this kid refused to give up. We spent all 3 of the 3 minute rounds trying to figure out a way to finish each other and though we both had chances neither of us could capitalize.
As I've been replaying the fight in my head over the past few days I already realized a few things I need to improve on, and a few mistakes to not make again. After watching the video, the fight was less sloppy than I was expecting to see. And to be honest even though I lost I'm happier with this fight than I was with my 16 second victory. Once I'm healed up I'll be back in the gym and preparing for my next go-round on January 19th.
I'd do a full play by play, but I think I'd rather just put the video up and wait on you fine folks to pose questions. And don't be nice, people. Be honest.
