UFC lightweight fighter Jeremy Stephens isn't smiling for the camera after getting picked up last week on assault charges in Minneapolis. "Lil' Heathen" remains behind bars as he awaits his court appearance on Oct. 23 in Hennepin County.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight Jeremy Stephens remains behind bars in Minnesota, where he's expected to appear before a judge on Oct. 23, 2012.
Bail was recently set at $100,000.
"Lil' Heathen" was arrested at his hotel last Friday (Oct. 5), just hours before his scheduled fight against Yves Edwards at the UFC on FX 5: "Browne vs. Silva" event from the Target Center in Minneapolis. Stephens was picked up for an outstanding warrant stemming from a 2011 assault charge in Iowa.

Representatives for Stephens released a statement yesterday with additional details regarding their client's arrest, maintaining they have "nothing to hide" from an investigation that probes a homecoming party gone awry because of (what else) intoxicated guests.
We'll have more on Stephens upcoming court appearance in the coming days. In the meantime, you can get more background on this developing story here and here.
