Siyar Bahadurzada (left) takes on Paulo Thiago at the UFC on FUEL TV 2 event, booked for April 14, 2012, at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
First you saw him as "Mayhem" Miller's assistant coach on The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 14, now you'll see him as a UFC fighter.
Golden Glory welterweight Siyar Bahadurzada will finally make his Octagon debut when he takes on Brazilian supercop Paulo Thiago at the UFC on FUEL TV 2 event, booked for April 14, 2012, at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
MMA NYTT brought word of the pairing earlier today.
Bahadurzada (20-4) recently ran roughshod over the competition in the Ultimate Glory Welterweight Tournament, capturing the crown and knocking out all three of his opponents in the process.
Aside from terrorizing the ranks on the International scene, the Afghan native is the current Shooto 183-pound champion and hasn't lost since Jorge Santiago heel-hooked him back in 2008.
That kind of experience has earned him a pretty stiff test in his UFC debut.
After a rough 2010, Thiago (14-3) was able to get back into the win column with a unanimous decision nod over David Mitchell at UFC 134 back in August, returning him to good standing after consecutive losses to Diego Sanchez and Martin Kampmann.
Does a win over Bahadurzada put him back "in the mix?"
Here is the current UFC on FUEL TV 2 fight card and line-up:
