Former UFC light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida is just one fighter on a long list of Brazilian combatants who have a problem with ex-UFC middleweight number one contender Chael Sonnen.
In fact, he's even willing to fight him with one arm.
He might not have a choice, considering he recently tweeted that injuries forced him into the shop for repairs. Unfortunately for "The Dragon," Sonnen doesn't fight people who drink their own urine. He does, however, have time to "cold cock" him and walk away.
I don't have time for "pee pee" mouth. All the time I can spare him is enough to cold cock him and walk away.
I'm not sure how much damage he can do with a cold cock, but the mere thought of it is enough to keep me out of harm's way.
Sonnen, in addition to getting more mic time as the host of "Chael's Corner" on UFC Tonight, will try to get back into a middleweight title fight against Anderson Silva by taking on Mark Munoz at UFC on FOX 2 on Jan. 28, 2012, from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Machida, meanwhile, is still licking his wounds from a UFC 140 beatdown at the hands of Jon Jones last December.
While Sonnen has teased a fight at 205-pounds in the past, it will likely take a loss at middleweight -- one that eliminates him from title contention -- to make that kind of move possible.

I don’t like him yet but i don’t think he’s the asshole he likes to be on tv. He gets under people skin for ratings just like the Diaz Bros. Let’s be real would he be as popular now if he didn’t have that under your skin charisma? I respect his hussle, but i would like AS to beat his ass though.

I should have joined the Dark Side and learned more about MMA than spend most of my time watching episodes of New Girl, Nikita and Jersey Shore. I think he’s funny, witty and sharp, and that’s a hell of a lot better than dull, predictable, full of cliches and regurgitation of the typical pre and post fight banter.

Sonnen took 5 rounds off Anderson before tapping. And Lyoto took a round off of Jones.

he landed the only significant strike
in a round that had barely any action. Yes Jones may have landed more total strikes, but it would not have been a surprise had the judges awarded the round to Machida

How easily Jones took Machida down when he wanted to? Tito’s takedown’s haven’t been good in years. Chaels is on a much higher level. My arguement is simply just because you all don’t like Chael, you can’t discard what he is great at.

as far as what he says outside of fighting I could care less, I don’t look at his personal attributes, just his fighting.
I just don’t think you can try and discredit a Former UFC LHW Champion because he almost lost to yet another former UFC LHW Champion. Chael Sonnen VS Lyoto would be awesome,

…I like Machida a lot, I just think this is a very good fight. All I was simply saying is he is far from unbeatable.

Difference being, Chael took it to Silva the entire 5 rounds. But many refuse to give Chael credit.

The guy up above stated that Lyoto almost lost to Tito, which sounds ridiculous because Chael did lose to HORN, MARTIN & SOBRAL but that doesn’t effect his career today just like Lyoto’s career is unaffected by (almost) losing to Tito. I'm 50/50 in that fight.
I think that if Lyoto could stuff Chael’s take downs he’ll dominate him just like he did Tito and Rashad(Didn’t use his wrestling, but he shot in once and Lyoto stuffed it) Lyoto’s could put on a 15 minute striking clinic against Chael if Sonnen’s collegiate wrestling was nullified. Jones isn’t your regular collegiate wrestler either, when he got Lyoto down it was out of nowhere with sheer strength and Lyoto looked gassed in the second(Although I still believe Jones would have won)
If Chael puts Lyoto on his back though, Lyoto’s guard hasn’t been showcased alot which would be the only chance he’d have if Chael could get him to the ground.

Can’t believe somebody actually brought up Tito in this thread. And I always love the so and so lost to these people 5 years ago implying he would still lose again. I’m willing to bet Chael is a much better fighter now than he was then. He did to Silva what NOBODY had been able to do to him and while all the nuthuggers will say Anderson had a hurt rib and Chael was juicing. He looked fantastic against Brian Stann. I think the Munoz fight will be a good one and we will see if Chael’s wrestling is better now as apparently Munoz got the better of Chael in college wrestling.

Silva was hurt and chael was juicing. Nothing said there isn’t true. Now saying chael looked amazing against Brian Stann, is nuthuggery. Stann has no ground game. With the exception of that 1 triangle he pulled off his ground game is laughable. Point is Sonnen should have ran over stann the way he did. If chael hadn’t beat stann the way he did that would be the anamoly.

If Silva way hurt, why was he allowed to fight?
If he didn’t disclose the injury to the doctor pre-fight, then Anderson should have STFU about the injury. Chael had an explanation for the elevated levels whether you or the NSAC care to believe it. Stann has no ground game, yet Chael has pretty rudimentary stand-up. If the fight starts on the feet, wasn’t Stann supposed to be able to knock him out?
I made the nuthugger comment because nobody wants to give Sonnen any credit for the way he fought Silva and will just use the rib/elevated T levels to totally dismiss Chael’s one-sided fight (up until the triangle) Granted he lost but again he did to Silva what nobody had done. Silva probably doesn’t want that fight again but I bet Zuffa does. Got to get by Munoz first though.

He punched Silva in the face 300 times without cutting or bruising him once.
Chael is a better wrestler than Silva, he beat him at wrestling.
He didn’t deserve the title shot then and he doesn’t deserve it now.
He’s going to WWE himself into another title shot and prove once again that the only thing he can do is talk out of his ass and wrestle.

However saying Stann was supposed to knock out Chael is like saying James Toney was supposed to knock out Couture. Ya they both had a punchers chance and overall better stand up but we all know it takes 1 take down and the chance is gone. I can’t give Chael credit becaue he hit Silva a lot but in the end Chael looked worse than Silva. so hat did Chael actually do?
I don’t think Chael gets passed Muñoz. The wrestling will cancel out and I’m expecting Chael to get tko’d. The only way Charl wins is by UD.
