UFC on FOX 2: "Evans vs. Davis" weigh-in event went down today (Jan. 27, 2012) in Chicago, Illinois, where all 20 competitors tipped the scale to make their respective bouts official for tomorrow night's (Jan. 28, 2012) event.
In the video above, the first fighter steps on the scale around the 18-minute mark.
Rashad Evans (205) will look to earn his shot at Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones with a win over rising contender and undefeated prospect Phil Davis (205) in the main event of the evening.
The co-featured fight of the night will see Chael Sonnen (185) do battle against British bad boy Michael Bisping (185). Everyone is on point and ready to go, with all matches now officially official.

Different style though...
Bisping is a stick-n-move boxer who is technical but not all that exciting to watch. While it may be easy to say that he doesn’t have any KO’s (in a looooooong time) Sonnen’s GNP is relentlessly attacking, violent, and aggressive. He doesn’t throw winging bombs – but few can escape a beating either.

Sonnen is a mentally ill fighter for sure. I used to root for him a couple of years ago, but....
he has mentally decelerated into something of a clown. He is too delustional, too manic, too grandiose in his self-image. Something needs to be done in this fight to shake his tree abit and bring him back to reality….

This guy clearly is an MMA idiot. And he cut the real expert Kenny Florian off numerous times. Anyone else find this guy totally obnoxious?

I’m Glad they have him around! Okay, so he said Bisping has heavy hands – but he’s amped up, Kenny and him are doing a substantially brief analysis. I guarantee it was a slip.. or he simply misspoke. Glazer is not a dummy when it comes to the sport. I’m SURE he realizes that Bisping doesn’t drop bombs. And what about the positives? He mentioned that Rashad has an unrivaled ability to stick to a gameplan; he also acknowledged his inability to stick a gameplan against Machida. He credited Chael as having the best octagon wrestling in the UFC, notwithstanding GSP. And regardless of whether you agree with him on that, it certainly not far-fetched to state that Chael has the best MMA wrestling in the sport today. He’s more knowledgeable than Goldie and Wheelock. I don’t know how you call him obnoxious – he’s playing the role of an excited MMA play by play guy. Plus, as mentioned, he hasn’t spent too much time commentating for the UFC, so he’s only going to improve. But if you think he’s obnoxious, then you must think Mauro is also obnoxious. I think a better words for that type of commentary is zealous, enthusiastic, excited. I think its a style that fits Glazer (and Mauro) perfectly. Good stuff Jay.
