UFC 143 'Primetime' episode two on FX discussion thread for 'Diaz vs Condit'
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) returns with its "Primetime" preview for UFC 143: "Diaz vs. Condit," a three-part series featuring a behind-the-scenes look as former Strikeforce welterweight Champion Nick Diaz prepares to fight fellow division number one contender Carlos Condit for the Interim title on Feb. 4, 2012, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Episode two premieres TONIGHT (Fri., Jan. 27) at 11 p.m. ET on the FX Channel. Episode three of "UFC Primetime" airs Feb. 3 and if you missed the first installment, click here to watch it in its entirety.
"Diaz vs. Condit" was booked after UFC welterweight champion George St. Pierre suffered a devastating knee injury, one that was severe enough to require surgery and several months of rehab.
His ACL tear marked the second time St. Pierre has been forced to withdraw from a headlining title defense against Diaz, which will no doubt do little to convince the fiery Stockton slugger that he ain't "scared."
"Rush" pulled out of their UFC 137 main event back in October after spraining his medial collateral ligament (MCL). It was not torn and St. Pierre was quickly re-booked to face Diaz, who bumped Carlos Condit from the number one contender spot after retiring B.J. Penn back on Oct. 29.
Now both Condit and Diaz get the opportunity they've wanted since day one: To fight for the UFC welterweight title. In fact, PPV buys notwithstanding, this 170-pound war could meet and perhaps even exceed the fireworks expected in the original billing.
Time will tell.

this fight should of been on the fox card instead …
so this guy comes to my apartment complex every morning to collect cans and then crush them ... turns out the guy's name is.... fedor ..
Nah, you got the other Diaz on the next Fox card.
Two Diaz’s in a row would probably look bad.

So is everyone on this card.

Ummmmm no
Rashad vs Davis is one of those cards most would pass on except for the fan that NEEDS to see every fight. Did you buy the Evans Tito card? My bet is you did

Not with all the free cards, PVR, and watching the fights the next morning. I used to waste Saturdays on the UFC but once you miss a couple, it becomes very easy…………….bar nights and PPV buys are only around big fights now. I’ve also been watching since UFC 50 so my time has passed

I’ve been ordering the fights since 2006 or 2007 and i think I’ve missed about 10 events. I love watching them on my couch because it takes my time off work. I’m not into the bar scene

I don't drink so I try not to go to the bar
Once in awhile if I can’t order it I’ll go

Can’t give away the keys to the castle. People are going to tune in tomorrow including new fans. It will also give the UFC the opportunity to push or sell the Diaz fight on PPV.
Personally, I think the UFC isn’t going to grow that much from now on anyway. Dana wants to grow this to be bigger then the NFL. It will never happen

i dont know i mean do you think the nfl could sale games for 59.99 .. i doubt it .. although i think you may be right .. i could see it being number 2 behind the nfl ..

Outside North America, no one knows what NFL stands for!
MMA should be more popular than any other sport because at the end of the day, the biggest spectacle between 2 superstar athletes would be for them to fight, and that’s exactly what MMA and the UFC are selling.
Great fights > Great fighters
Message boards are for the fans, professional fighters should seek opinions elsewhere!
Pretty much
Fighting is the most primitive form of competition. Everybody knows fighting. Every culture has practiced it.
Football on the other hand, people outside of America have a hard time getting into it…

I live in Ireland and I like the NFL.
Chance of a regular season game coming to Dublin this year also as the American Ambassador to Ireland is Dan Rooney.

Woah that guy who said
Put GSP and Nick in an alley and see how comes out is a complete douche haha. And he’s a fat fuck. He also said you need a gun to stop Diaz. LOL
Idiots
Do the Diaz brothers have downsyndrome? Seriously?
No, they don't
Thanks for playing “simple answers to stupid questions.”
I'm not a racist. I hate all people equally.
Take some advice then.
You and them should quit talking!
Hey leave him alone
He probably believes GSP when he said he has had more street fights than Nick.

War GSP
Wow I can’t believe what he had to say at the end there. I can’t wait to see that side of him in the cage. That was awesome to hear.
by Kbone12 on Jan 27, 2012 11:30 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Lmao I just posted a whole pragraph about this
GSP when he is motivated is a scary son of a bitch I don’t care how many decisions he has. Can’t wait for the GSP haters to hop on this thread lol. Not gonna lie I was rooting for Diaz but I might change my mind…
In rooting for Diaz in a week.
Just to see GSP motivated and on fire when he fights Nick.
by Kbone12 on Jan 27, 2012 11:34 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
Yeah I love it when GSP is pissed
And motivated. It also makes a great primetime episode as well. Can’t wait for the primetime series when GSP and Nick fight. Damn!!!
Dude
This was an awesome episode. GSP was in it at the end and he is pissed as fuck. You gotta watch that GSP part if you missed it, he’s ready to fuck Nick up. GSP even said “Nick doesn’t know what I’ve been through, I’ve been in more street fights than he can imagine” or something like that. I never knew GSP could be such a hardass. Not gonna lie it’s kinda scary.
And
You believe him right. If GSP says it then it has to be true!
by p rock on Jan 27, 2012 11:34 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
I wonder
What P R guy wrote all that stuff for GSP to say
by p rock on Jan 27, 2012 11:35 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
Yea I thought that was a waste of time to hear gsp talk and see him during rehab. Gsp said the same stuff when he had his fight with hardy and they had a prime-time show
by zesotheclown on Jan 27, 2012 11:40 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
Not really.
He’s just motivated and hasn’t been like that in a while. When he fights motivated like that he runs through his opponents, we all saw Serra and Hughes. Love people who try to be irrelevant.
When have street fights mattered? Have you seen both guys record?? Diaz has a lot more fights than George and let me add this they were exciting to watch, exciting isn’t in gsps vocab
by zesotheclown on Jan 27, 2012 11:56 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
Earlier in the episode Diaz's first MMA coach says Diaz would beat GSP if they met in some back alley
GSP was probably responding to that
I doubt gsp would win in a street fight. There aren’t any rounds or cry when you can’t see out of an eye
by zesotheclown on Jan 28, 2012 3:07 AM EST via mobile up reply actions
Why did we have to see gsp rehab his knee? And then talk, he couldn’t save that for after. Those that heard gsp talk about his past already know he had a hard life growing up, of course he wants to fight Nick. I hate how the ufc always takes away from a fight by focusing on what happens after the fight. This fight between condit and diaz is going to be badass why does it have to be over shadowed by gsp? Man save that shit for after
by zesotheclown on Jan 27, 2012 11:38 PM EST via mobile reply actions
Kinda agree with you
But I also like seeing a little GSP to top off the sundae. The last episode should be much better and without GSP.
Yea i hope he isn’t shown anymore. It’s like the ufc is looking past thia fight for a diaz/gsp fight which is understandable because it would be a huge draw bit shit why take away from condit and diaz on a tv show to show it. Beloved me I can’t wait for Nick to sub George, but shit I’m more excited for this fight then a gsp vs condit/diaz fight. this figjt has foty written all over it both these dudes bring it like nobody else. I hope Nick wins but if he doesn’t I will still root for Carlos to beat gsp. I see either dude subing gsp. I feel either dude will beat gsp on tje feet so he OS going to want to take either dude down and either dude can sub gsp
by zesotheclown on Jan 27, 2012 11:48 PM EST via mobile up reply actions
Diaz vs Condo-it and GSP is going to be an amazing fight...
I didn’t even know handicap matches were allowed in MMA
also
Gsp got into mma because he was bullied and shit , also he worked as a bouncer so I don’t think he’s too soft
by HerbDeansBraidofhair on Jan 28, 2012 6:56 AM EST via mobile reply actions
Hmmm surprised to see GSP pop up in this
but come on “the darkness I have within me”? This is a guy who struggles to come up with good phrases on the fly in interviews. I’m very sceptical all his remarks were sincere and spontaneous.
