Chael Sonnen claims he's undefeated, conducts recent interview with fake UFC championship belt

"Highly Questionable."
That's the name of the show hosted by Dan LeBatard. It's also a good way to describe Chael Sonnen's sanity, as he trots around town with a UFC championship belt he didn't earn. Still, that hasn't stopped him from keeping LeBatard in stitches during their recent video interview in advance of Sonnen's UFC on Fox 2 fight against Michael Bisping.
The winner is expected to face Anderson Silva for the real title later this year.
This isn't the first time that Sonnen has claimed he was the true division champion, but this may be the first time we've seen him produce some actual hardware.

Sensible facts? Fights from over 3 years ago generally don’t reflect much in today’s world. Fighters constantly evolve, adapt, and progress.
Sonnen wrecked Nate, who has had a more storied career of being able to sub people off of his back IIRC.
I’ve never seen Bisping as a submission guy at all, let alone a submission guy FROM OFF HIS BACK! Bisping has some excellent BJJ, he is able to maintain guard well, he’s able to scramble well, and he is able to GNP very well.
None of those mean he has submission offense though.
Point being, as bad as Sonnen’s submission defense is, you actually have to have some submission offense to get the job done.
What facts are you speaking of?

The origin of the name is...
First off, my first name is Kenny, which should be pretty obvious. But years ago, probably 1991 or so, I was in a band with a couple of co-workers, and our band never had a name. So I booked a show for us to play out, and had to come up with a name for the band pretty much on the spot. So I thought back to an old Saturday Night Live skit where Eddie Murphy played ‘Clarence’, who was the 5th Beatle and the real leader of the band. He claimed that at one time the band was actually called ‘The Clarences’.
So for lack of a better name and to bust my friends’ onions, I called the band ‘The Kennys’. They, as expected, hated it, but the rest of our co-workers loved it and and were always busting their balls about. The name eventually evolved to ‘The Fabulous Kennys’, and then to ‘The Fabulous Kennys Featuring The Fabulous Kenny!’
The band didn’t last, but the name did, and The Fabulous Kenny became my internet handle dating back to when Prodigy was my means of getting to the internet. It was eventually shortened to TFK, where it’s been used for years on dozens of message boards and forums. And out of those forums, this is the only one where people have gotten upset over it. Kinda weird.

Chael’s whoopings on Okami and Nate have to be respected. And then the whooping on Silva was really the cherry on top. Then he wrecked Stann as well. Chael’s UFC career has been quite impressive, you just don’t see guys with dominant wrestling like him.

There's 2 types of people
The ones who think Sonnen is funny, and the ones who think he’s an idiot. The first time around with the Silva thing, it was funny, and entertaining at times, now it’s just old and played out. He’s like an uncle that keeps telling the same jokes over and over again, afterwhile they just aren’t funny anymore, they’re just annoying. Trash talk is good for selling fights, but what he does now, it’s bad for a sport that’s still trying to claim legitimacy from the critics. But whatever, he’s not going to stop, so if you don’t like him, just ignore him the best you can.

Chael’s making himself more marketable. We won’t know the long term effects on the sport as a whole for a while. For now, it’s fun. I don’t think he’s preventing any up and comer fighters from succeeding.

i infer from this video that chael felt that bisping is a much easier opponent as compared to the filipino powerhouse in the form of munoz. he surely didnt thrash talk during the pre fight conference when munoz was there. basically chael would shut his gap only when he feels that his opponent could do beat him in a match.
