The Brazilian, who cranked his way to victory over Mike Massenzio at UFC 142 earlier this month, remains an enigma to the MMA masses. Now fans can get a closer look at the man behind the heel hook.

Nice little movie, Toquinho is quickly becoming one of my faves. Always fun to watch, just needs to get his mental game tweaked a bit.
The grappling/sparring at around 16 minutes is awesome, and the ADCC scenes are great too.

still, mental disasters aside, he is easily one of my favorite athletes to watch compete.
If he gets his head together, he can really become fucking scary!

The other guy is a real pussy.
Paul Harris was obviously trying to congratulate him with that “illegal blow to the back of the neck”.
And yeah, he strikes me as someone with a very limited mental capability, and he has issues he should solve, like obeying the ref, not dropping guard, releasing legs before the opponent is maimed, etc
But like said, he is very entertaining, and a force to reckon with.
If he manages to NOT make something too stupid, I see him as champ.
Even if that means taking the belt from Anderson.

Not sure palhares has what it takes to be champ.The one thing he’s great at is heel hooks/leg locks the rest of game needs work

Mir doesn't have Palhares's reputation
of not releasing submissions quick enough when ordered by the ref. Plus Palhares has really done some other stupid shit in fights that really make you wonder about his mental capacity. See Marquardt and Dan Miller fights and some shady stuff reported at ADCC.
Thankfully, his last fight, he was spot on with his release of the sub I thought.

believe me, Toquinho is a very nice and humble and even a very shy guy. He doesnt know his own strength. I spent a lot of time with him making this and i can tell you that he really is a nice guy. If people are going to complain about this, they are in the wrong sport. As Toquinho said. At this level someone always get hurt.

He has been huge for ages, ever since all that manual labour as a kid. And he had to eat out of bin bags and lived under a bridge. Theres no way he could afford roids.

The guy strikes me as someone who would cheat. He’s held on to numerous submissions, over and over. Watch some of his fights outside the UFC. That ish he pulled in the Miller fight, trying to influence the Ref.

We’ve all heard the stories about him being so poor he had to eat animal feed as a kid (he was a farm hand at the time).

some people out there have great bone structure…. have you seen his shoulders? he was lifting hundreds and hundreds of crates full of bananas everyday… you get big.. Why’s everyone so hung up on the topical these days? hard work can pay dividends..and in this case, look at his physique.

Personally, I doubt that he is juicing. If he is then he is doing the same thing that 4 out of 5 UFC fighters are doing. Looks like he really needs to polish that standup game. He’s got great flexibility, and explosive speed. With some better kicking form he’d be putting dudes lights out.
I’m really becoming a fan of this guy. Love that aggressive style. I just wish he’d stop tearing peoples knees up.
