The rematch between Dennis Siver vs. Ross Pearson will have to wait.

That's because "The Real Deal" has been replaced with fellow featherweight Diego Nunes, welcoming the German kickboxer to the 145-pound division at UFC on FUEL TV 2, which is set to take place at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden, on April 14, 2012.

MMA NYTT -- the same outlet that announced the now-scrapped Siver-Pearson rematch -- today revealed that the featherweight fight was in the works for the mixed martial arts (MMA) promotion's second entry into the cable television network's live sports programming schedule.

Siver (19-8) had quietly assembled a four-fight win streak at 155-pounds; however, Donald Cerrone put an end to his consecutive victories with a first round strangulation at UFC 137 last October. That was apparently enough for the powerful lightweight to want to shed an additional 10 pounds and ply his trade against smaller competition.

Nunes recently re-entered the win column with a unanimous decision victory over Manny Gamburyan at UFC 141: "Lesnar vs. Overeem" in Dec. 2011.

A loss to Kenny Florian in his previous bout momentary dashed the championship-challenging hopes of the talented Nova Uniao-trained fighter, but "The Gun" can get right back in the mix with a solid effort against the well-known Siver.

UFC on Fuel TV 2 features native son Alexander Gustafsson in the main event taking on longtime veteran and Brazilian banger Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Other bouts booked for the event include Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara and Paulo Thiago vs. Siyar Bahadurzada, among others.
