"I think I'm the most well rounded fighter in the world. I deserve a spot in the pound-for-pound rankings. And that's what I'm fighting for.... This is my lifestyle, this is what I do. I'm going to be ready to fight Carlos Condit -- he's the best fighter out there. He's winning his fights, he looks good. He's beat everybody, he fights better than everybody. In my eyes, he's better than Georges St. Pierre.... I respect his style of fighting.... I just try and keep it real -- I'm not going to put a fake on you, put on a show and pretend I'm someone I'm not. I have no idea when it comes anything else. I just fight."
UFC 143: "Diaz vs. Condit" is the next major mixed martial arts (MMA) pay-per-view (PPV) event to be held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on Feb. 4, 2012 from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada
Georges St. Pierre was originally scheduled to defend his welterweight championship against Nick Diaz in the main event. However, on Dec. 7, 2011, it was revealed "Rush" had suffered an ACL injury that required surgery to repair, forcing him to withdraw from the bout.
Diaz will now face Carlos Condit with the winner receiving an interim title belt. It's a big time fight that Diaz declares is actually better than the original showdown with St. Pierre because, well, the "Natural Born Killer" is a better fighter.

He is right
His boxing and bjj and cardio are among the best in MMA. There is no debating that, even if you are a Diaz hater. His wrestling isn’t perfect but he has not needed it, and he trains a hell of a lot of sambo.
There is a reason Nick is on an 11 fight win streak, and has 26 victories in his career. He is well rounded and can beat the best on the feet or on the ground.
Because that streak includes people like Zaromski, Shamrock, Sakurai and Cyborg
Not exactly a murderer’s row now is it.

Daley is meh and isnt even in the top 5 of his division so not sure if serious...
BJ is the ONLY decent win he has in that entire streak and even that was undermined by BJ’s career dropoff as of late.

Daley might be “meh” only because he lacks the ground game to be competitive in the highest levels. Nick didn’t fight him there though. He kept the fight standing where Daley is a very dangerous welterweight. Daley’s power is top notch and could put any WW to sleep and that is where Nick beat him at.

Wrestling is one of the most important aspects of MMA now,
so how in the hell can Diaz be the most well rounded. It’s no wonder Nick hasn’t needed his (lack of) wrestling, he HASN’T fought any good wrestler since he was consistently losing to them when he was first in the UFC. The UFC is loaded with “great” wrestler, so it’s only a matter of time until the delusional will realize that.
It seems he has switched from weed to crack.
Only way I can figure he thinks he is the most well rounded fighter. Even that wouldn’t completely explain how he thinks he is in the best p4p race.

Diaz may fight with the same style but his skills have progressed with the game that’s why he is on a winning streak. Diaz time is now and he will prove it this year

He still hasn’t fought the type of fighter that drove him from the UFC the first time, and Condit isn’t one of those guys either.
Nick has never beaten a decent wrestler. Until he does he is the same exciting fighter that mashes other stand-up guys, but doesn’t have good enough TDD to hold the title for very long.

but I personally think that people are doubting Condit a little too much.
Very similar style to Nick with technically better striking, better wrestling and good enough jits to not get subbed by Nick. Condit has also gone into deep water before with MacDonald and come back stronger, like Nick did against Daley.
It should be a terrific scrap, but both would only be keeping hte seat warm for Ellenberger, IMO.

I do think Condit is a better technician than GSP on the feet

I like exciting and technical fights.
Nick Diaz produces both. He is a technical wizard on the ground i.e. Karo Parisyan. He puts on epic slugfests i.e. BJ Penn. Maybe not the most well rounded bc he is lacking td def but this kid doesnt care where you want to fight. He will go anywhere and can back up his shit talking. I enjoy the Skrap Pack. True Fan
