"The UFC, they're expanding, everybody knows they're doing the shows on FOX and FUEL and FX and all that stuff, so they're adding some positions as analyst and commentator. I'm out here this weekend to work with Jon Anik, basically calling the fights, but it's not gonna be televised."
Former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin gets his feet wet behind the broadcast booth at UFC 141 alongside veteran voice of ESPN and beyond, Jon Anik, to see if he can make the grade as a play-by-play man and plug a few of the staffing holes created by the promotion's recent television deal with the FOX network. When he's not being threatened by Tito Ortiz or mistaken for a dancer, "Ace" is rehabbing his surgically repaired shoulder. Franklin is scheduled to make his UFC return at some point in 2012, but will we see him as a fighter, or a commentator? Anyone think the part-time light heavyweight has still got some compelling fights left in him?
