Here's the official extended video trailer for the UFC 143: "Diaz vs. Condit" event, which is set to take place on Sat., Feb. 4, 2012, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring Nick Diaz taking on Carlos Condit.
And the marketing tactic used is a rather interesting one:
"For the first time in three years, the UFC welterweight division will have a new champion."
Kind of. Georges St. Pierre is still the champion but because he's laid up until later this year (maybe November), the UFC felt the need to create an interim title for Diaz and Condit to fight over.
So, technically, there will be a new champion in the welterweight division. But it's essentially a 12-pound piece of tin, like Chael Sonnen loves to say, because it wasn't earned by going through St. Pierre.

I really don't see diaz losing to anyone
who doesn’y employ wrestling based strategy. Condit is a tough SOB and it will be a war.Diaz by decision. Sig bet on this one anybody?

I believe Condit is more well rounded than Nick, he fought hamburger and was able to defend himself, sort of
condit is a finisher, I only remember 1 ko for diaz when he started, so it would be interesting. But I believe if Condit rocked diaz like daley, i see him finishing it, with a ko or a submission, but if it goes to decision, am sure it will be Diaz who get the win.
I dont think Condit has as much power as Daley, but anything can happen

He drop Hardy, I know that’s not say much. Diaz is a block head, he can take a beating and keep coming forward. Scary! That is what is going to let him win this fight and beat GSP. He will take a beating to give a beating!

If Condit gets into a scramble with Diaz or rocks him like Daley did, Condit has the killer instict to finish the fight without fear of being on the ground. Everyone knows how Diaz fights and sets the constant pace. But Condit is so unpredictable, good everywhere, n sets a faster pace than Diaz

Doesn’t need to beef up this fight but making it an interm belt…the fans know this fight is great and casual fans could care less whether or not a built is on the line…don’t know why they feel a need to do this…

March 31 is a possibility. I'm not sure if im gonna fight or not. Got lots of other stuff going on (planning a wedding and such)
so i might just focus on my teammates and help get them ready for this one, then fight in the Fall. I’m definitely getting the competitive itch again, but might have to put fighting on the back burner for a bit to take care of my big-boy bidness.
after the wedding, i might make a run at a career. fight 5-6 times on the local circuit in 6-7 months, against the best i can find. see what happens after that.
shit becomes alot more real when one of your friends actually makes it to the UFC. all of the sudden, it seems possible lol.

Yeah, you don't want to be doing a camp during wedding planning.
And that’s awesome that one of your friends is in the UFC now. I can imagine how that becomes a reachable goal all the sudden, whereas before it is kind of just fantasy.

This fight is going to be awesome I see diaz getting rocked a few times but he should pull out the victory. I like both dudes and i think either dude will give gsp a good fight so whoever wins is cool but I’m just hoping more its diaz. I can see this fight playing out like the diaz/cyborg fight.

I wonder if he will say the same things as before the BJ fight? when he said he is kinda a stressed because he was supposed to fight with GSP… so now that again LOL. Hope to see a great fight , i think Nick will win this, now its their time to shine.. this year will be the year of the Diaz brothers.

Neither of them have a chance against GSP
GSP is too strong on the ground to get submitted, he won’t stand and bang with Diaz, he knows how to keep his distance and use kicks, he will reverse if taken down which almost never happens anyway and Condit is not strong enough either to dominate on or off the feet.
Haven’t we been through this enough times before, seriously, I feel like people are characters from Men in Black getting their memories wiped. Hope that helps refresh things.
