Report: 23 million viewers watch UFC 142 on Brazilian TV
Viva Brazil!
UFC 142: "Aldo vs. Mendes" went down last Saturday night (Jan. 14, 2012) live from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, featuring hometown heroes Vitor Belfort and Jose Aldo in winning performances.
And let's not forget about Edson Barboza and Rousimar Palhares.
When all was said and done, 23 million viewers watched the mixed martial arts (MMA) extravaganza on Brazilian television, according to a report from Sherdog.com.
According to commentator Galvao Bueno, who called the action with UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva, approximately 23 million people watched UFC 142 across Brazil, making for an average 14.6 rating and a 70-percent share. For comparison, youth-oriented channel Sistema Brasileiro de Televisao (SBT) took second place with just a 3.7 rating, while Rede Bandeirantes came in third with a 1.6 average. Rede Record, the channel which Globo beat out for the right to broadcast the UFC, placed fourth with a 1.0 rating.
UFC 142 had a little bit of everything: Bone-crunching submissions, wheel-kick knockouts, crowd-storming celebrations and even the sweet taste of revenge.

Much better card than i gave it credit for.
It seemed like every fight was a finish. Subs and ko’s everywhere. Awsesome!
Chubby chasin johnson fan. I foolishly picked an unproven middleweight over belfort. And now i'm stuck with this sig for 2 weeks.
Aldo the superstar is born
kid future is bright

Brazil gets it.
I went 0-2 against Phasebook. Why do I feel that I am just padding his record?" Next time I won’t pick a guy whose best weapon is a somersault against a real bad guy like Scarface.

I think the UFC found it’s most profitable market… Wand vs Belfort 2 in Sao Paolo’s stadium will be the most EPIC fight reaction ever..
I think the main event for that one will have to be Anderson
if he is healthy of course.

Lorenzo & his tight little t-shirts.
Do you think Lorenzos tight little t-shirts are size small ….or extra small? 5’7 and trying so hard to be tough guy. Hes so cute. I wanna hug him and pat him on the head.
Holy shit that would bring in fucking 50 million people. Fuck maybe more.

Anyone have a video of him reacting to the Jose Aldo knockout of mendes? that would be amazing lol
I dont care if people want to boo me or talk trash to me... I cant understand what they are saying anyways. (Jose Aldo)
Sweet Jesus!
That one event probably had more viewership than 5-6 years here in North America combined!
And these fuckers were up to 4 in the morning watching this shit ! Insane.
