The UFC 142 pre-fight press conference took place today (Jan. 12, 2012) at the Copacabana Palace Hotel in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil,, as one of the last official events in preparation for the "Aldo vs. Mendes" event taking place this Sat., Jan. 14, 2012.

Jose Aldo will defend his featherweight championship in the main event of the evening in front of a partisan crowd against American strong arm wrestler Chad Mendes. Everyone is playing nice for now but let's hope that ends quickly come fight night.

Perhaps the most popular Brazilian fighter of them all, Vitor Belfort, is also in action, as he'll take on Anthony Johnson, who will be making his middleweight debut. "Rumble" says he's feeling better than ever at his new weight but can he deal with the speedy and equally heavy hands of "The Phenom?"

He certainly doesn't look intimidated. Judge for yourself in their staredown pic after the jump.
