Report: Ross Pearson vs Dennis Siver rematch possible for UFC on FUEL TV 2
Score, meet settle.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has added yet another high stakes match-up for its upcoming UFC on FUEL TV 2 fight card, the second entry into the cable television network's live mixed martial arts (MMA) programming on April 14 at the Ericsson Globe Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.
Featherweight striker Ross Pearson will try to make it two in a row against fellow former lightweight Dennis Siver when they hook 'em up in a 145-pound rematch, according to a report from MMA NYTT.
Pearson (13-5) is fresh off a close unanimous decision win over Junior Assuncao at UFC 141 just last month, his first win at featherweight after Edson Barboza convinced him to head south for the winter.
Now that the Brit has proven he's "The Real Deal" at 145, can he spoil the German kickboxer's featherweight debut in a rematch from their UFC Fight Night 21 contest?
Siver (19-8) had quietly assembled a four-fight winning streak at 155-pounds; however, Donald Cerrone put an end to his consecutive dubyas with a first round strangulation at UFC 137 last October.
Who will be the better man at the lighter weight?
UFC on Fuel TV 2 features native son Alexander Gustafsson in the main event taking on longtime veteran and Brazilian banger Antonio Rogerio Nogueira. Other bouts booked for the event include Brian Stann vs. Alessio Sakara and Paulo Thiago vs. Siyar Bahadurzada.

Agree, the first fight was a good fight and was competitive.
BUT, it wasn’t close enough to need a rematch.
P4P TOP 5 1. Nick Diaz 2. Nate Diaz 3. Fedor 4. Overeem 5. Junie Browning … Also Nate AND Nick will both be champions of thier respective brackets. Dont Fuck With Mean Mug he will make you slob all over your most hated fighters knob 209 BITCHES!!!!!!

...why?
The 145 division is still lacking a little big name quality. I know neither of these guys are world beaters but their names are both recognizable. Use them both to gain some up and comers a little exposure. Plus I don’t really see a point in the rematch, even if it is in a different division
Sakuraba beats Silva, Aoki would beat Miller and Vitor Belfort didn't deserve his title shot - In my opinion, the craziest points I've read on this site...
I know these 2 aren't exactly prospects, but
Seems like UFC would be eliminating some fresh blood at 145
I'll disagree
sure they’ve both lost recently…but both these guys are really talented.
Before Siver’s last loss, he was considered a top LW contender…and if he strings together a few wings, he’ll easily be back in contention.
Ross Pearson has looked really good since he stepped foot in the UFC…except for a hiccup against Cole Miller…and a split decision loss against one of the most talented prospects, a fight inwhich he earned even more respect. He’s got a helluva chin and is technically sound.

That's cool
What I meant was that these guys are fresh to the 145 lb division and have already fought each other. I say let them fight other 45ers and if they meet closer to the top then great.
Since these guys are more recognizable, let them fight other guys and you get double the impact of two guys that have had more TV time.
And Pearson just beat Assuncao…
pointless but should be fun
love to watch wand, florian, lauzon, gsp, cain, machida, dos anjos
bones jones will be the champ for a VERY long time
damn that was fun watching tito choke out bader
fedor man its time to hang up the gloves

The point
I think the UFC is hoping to create a contender out of one of these guys. The other will remain in FW gatekeeper purgatory for all time.

Pearson is more than a gatekeeper.
He is also one of the toughest fighters out there. He always brings it and is an easy fight for no one. Definitely one of the more entertaining fighters out there and does England proud unlike that embarrassment Dan (Excuses) Hardy, although I do agree with him about shooting animals for fun. Kill it to eat or go one on one, with a rifle telescoping or otherwise from ex amount of meters away and half the time the animal not even knowing you are there seriously WTF.

How is that not a gatekeeper?
I like Pearson, but I don’t think he’s a future champion. Like you said, he’s tough, he always brings it, and is an easy fight for no one. There’s a place in the UFC for guys like that.

so...
someone is either a champion or a gatekeeper?
dummy.

Just one year ago
Nobody would have breathed Nate Diaz champ in 2012. Now look. Ross is young enough to develop his game.
Fair point
He’s 27, so any streak of extreme development had better start soon. But perhaps I am writing him off too soon. I still think he will never be a champ, but he could contend for a title. I see him as a Martin Kampmann style gatekeeper. Always near the top of the division, fun to watch, well rounded, and a tough fight for anyone.

I like Pearson he is a solid fighter I think he needs to work on foot work. Who does he train with? I don’t remember
