It's a known fact that the Middleweight division is lacking challengers for Anderson Silva's title. There are a couple of fighters I can think of that could make the move to the Middleweight division and automatically be one fight away from a title shot. Here are the ones that came to mind:
Rashad Evans has always been a small light heavyweight. This was never more apparent than the Tito Ortiz fight. Tito's head looked as big as Rashad all by itself. I would think that he could easily make 185 and could not see anyone in the middleweight division that he couldn't beat in his first fight to test the waters. His wrestling credentials would make him a force to be reckoned with if he chose to use them.
This one was a no brainer. If he can't get another title shot at 170, move up to 185. That's what his best buddy Josh Koscheck seems to be doing. No no one wants to see GSP vs Jon fitch 2. It's just not gonna happen. Move on with your life Jon. Fitch is another fighter whose wrestling and grinding style would make waves in the middleweight division. One test fight, then a title shot.
Any other fighters that could make the jump and be one fight away from a title shot? Sound off folks. . .
