ProElite 2 books Arlovski vs Fulton, Sylvia vs Rizzo for Nov. 5 event in Moline, IL

04_arlovski_medium

Fights fans cringing at the news that former UFC Heavyweight Champions Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski were set to hook 'em up for a fourth meeting under the ProElite banner, I've got some good news for you.

According to MMA Fighting, they're still booked for Nov. 5, 2011, at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois, but against different opponents, contrary to an initial report from Cage Potato.

"The Pitbull" recently snapped a four-fight losing skid, one that included three violent knockouts, to stop Ray Lopez as part of the resurrected ProElite card last month in Hawaii.

He'll try to string together consecutive victories for the first time in over three years against an opponent with 150 submission wins to his credit.

That's not a typo.

The Belarusian has been paired off with the hardest working man in show business, Travis Fulton, who has over 300 mixed martial arts fights on his professional resume.

"Ironman" indeed.

Star-divide

Sylvia, who continues to struggle with his weight, was flattened by Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 10 castaway Abe Wagner last January for Titan FC before rebounding with a technical knockout win over Patrick Barrentine on the regional circuit.

He gets yet another former UFC heavyweight title holder in Pedro Rizzo, who's riding a three-fight win streak that includes victories over Octagon relics Gary Goodridge and Ken Shamrock.

Also expected to return for ProElite 2 is Reagan Penn, younger brother of UFC "Prodigy" B.J. Penn, who was successful in his MMA debut just last month.

How's this fight card looking to you, Maniacs?

Stay tuned to MMAmania.com for more information and details on ProElite's debut in Moline, as they become available.

If timmy comes in fat like he has in his past fights I will take Rizzo via KO

As for AA he looked like trash against the can he faced sooo not sure what to make of this fight. I definitely would not mind watching it if its on HDnet.

last time I saw him he got dropped

He must have been 330. At least.
I’m too lazy to look up the opponent but I know Tim should have whupped him and instead he was face down in 30 seconds

yeah I agree with your uncle

I hate seeing a guy like Roy Nelson not take his conditionimg seriouisly. It’s a waste of talent.
Abe Wagner! Right!
Then he went out and got smashed his next fight.
Thanks, that was buggin me.

Roy Nelson hasn’t really ever gassed until the Mir fight and even then reports circulated that he was really sick. Roy is just not strong enough or good enough to hang with the top 5. Tim though with his reach and abilities could still be atop 10-15 heavyweight IF he got back in his usual fighting shape.

Roy has a better skillset than Tim

He has good ground game. If he was half way in shape, he’d be at 205. His frame is way too small for HW.
I disagree about Sylvia. I don’t think he will ever get a sniff at top 15 again.

Yep Roy is not in good shape period.

You cannot be that fat carrying that much weight and be in good cardiovascular shape. It’s nonsense. Anyone who makes him work in a fight and not go at his own tempo, he gasses bad. I mean look at his fight with monson (absolutely dreadful garbage to watch). As far as big poopy, i mean he should beat Rizzo as that man is so far gone and shop worn that i doubt he’ll have any momentum before timmah socks him in the face.

If you want to educate yourself talk to Puck Head., he is Mania’s Sig Champion for a reason.

Roy is roy

As good on the ground he has been he hasn’t shown a lick. He beat Setfan Struve (inexperienced) and Brendan Schaub (kill or be killed type fighter). He was outclassed BIG time by both Junior Dos Santos and Frank Mir. He isn’t getting any younger nor is he getting much better. Roy doesn’t put much effort it would appear in his weight training ebcause he is never the one imposing his will.. Frank Mir dedicated himself to getting bigger and stronger.

Tim Sylvia has been a good-great heavyweight at atimes and if not for a late slip against Nog he wouldn’t have left the promotion and he may have been a TUF coach against Mir or face Lesnar.

Way Sylvia

Not fat Sylvia though, I hate fat Sylvia. If timmah was in shape he could beat guys like struve and Moorecraft

Apparently, SBNation hates me. I tried to do a fanpost and it wouldn't work. So I switched computers, that didn't work. I even signed on to my friends account and copy and pasted, but that didn't work. If anyone is up to try to post it for me, I'd appreciate it
