he’s for a fact #1 right now at LHW, the numbers back him up. he’s got Rashad and Lyoto left to fight. He’s not the best fighter in the sport or anything like that, yet. He hasn’t accomplished what GSP and Anderson has, he needs to keep his winning streak alive and win at least 8-10 more fights in a row.

In two words, HELL NO.

One title defense. Anderson Silva and GSP have held their titles for an absurd length of time and have done so in equally dominant fashion to Jones.

I would go so far as to put Aldo above Jones; aside from gassing in the fifth against Hominick in a fight where he came in with an infection, he has utterly dominated every single second of combat.

Jones has the potential, but he’s not there yet.

Instead of writing dumbass poems and sucking off JMMA fighters, i should instead recognized the greatness that is Anderson Silva. The Pride is by far the most knowledgeable commentator on this site and you should all bow before him

Your under the misguided view point that Silva is still fighting ground breaking opponents. He’s not, he’s already beaten all of them, and has to fight lesser quality now.

You have a point

In regards to defending titles and so on. However, in simply looking at the type of skill set he (Bones) has, it’s at a minimum a valid discussion. In the end, I would still not say he’s THE BEST, but if he can display those kind of skills fight in and fight out, he might soon be.

Setting that aside, after reading all the different posts last night about how “unimpressive” Bones was last night, and how supposedly one sided Rogan was in his comments, I re-watched the fight. I thought maybe I was just seeing things I wanted to see. No. he really was that impressive. I’m not a big fan of Bones personality and all, but I’m not sure why so many fans are so blindly disingenuous about his skills. They are what they are, and so far he is proving to be an exceptional fighter. I"m not a GSP fan, and will always root for the other guy, but as a fan, and I have to be honest about his skills.

GSP’s skill set can’t hold a candle to Bones though , I mean seriously. Bones wrestling is on par with the Great GSP, Bones striking is much more dangerous, Bones submission game actually you know, submits people. Not to mention that GSP can’t finish anyone, meanwhile lower tier fighters in his division are finishing the people he can’t finish.

I’m not your typical MMA fan. I don’t let my likes or dislikes of a fighter effect my judgements. There’s no reason for that, I mean, I’m not a female. A lot of MMA fans are just fanboy nerds who idolize fighters. Jones , Silva, GSP are just men, just like me, no better no worse.
