Bellator Fighting Championships returns TONIGHT (Sept. 24, 2011) to the Canton Memorial Civic Center in Canton, Ohio. The main card will air live on MTV2, beginning at 9 p.m. ET.
MMAmania.com will provide LIVE blow-by-blow, round-by-round coverage of Bellator 51 below, beginning with the MTV2 telecast at 9 p.m. ET. In addition, we'll deliver up-to-the-minute quick results of all the undercard action much earlier in the evening.
Bellator 51 will be the debut of the promotion's season five bantamweight tournament. The talented field is headlined by a thrilling bantamweight tournament bout between Bellator featherweight champion Joe Warren and Olympic freestyle wrestling bronze medalist Alexis Vila.
Also on the card, Bellator veteran Wilson Reis takes on top prospect Eduardo Dantas, former WEC champion Chase Beebe battles tough Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt Marcos Galvao and Bellator season three bantamweight runner-up Ed West battles luta livre fighter Luis Nogueira.

Round one: Vila opens with a nice head kick attempt that's blocked. Both men bouncing around the catch full of energy. Warren trying to stay on the outside early and use his reach. Villa connects with a right hand and stuns Warren early but drops for a takedown instead of following up. Warren creates distance and throws a big right hook but Vila counters with a left hook that knocks Warren COMPLETELY OUT COLD! Warren is stiff on the canvas and Vila throws one hammer fist before the ref tackles him off.
Final result: Alexis Vila defeats Joe Warren via knockout at 1:04 of round one
135 lbs.: Wilson Reis vs. Eduardo Dantas
Round one: Dantas takes the center of the cage and lands a nice right hand that knocks Reis off balance. Reis turns up the aggression and eats a big body kick. Reis presses forward and throws a kick that connects but he eats a right hand counter. Reis body kick is checked and Dantas pokes him in the eye. After a short break, Reis shoots in for a takedown and can't get it but settles instead for a clinch. They reset and return to the center of the cage. Dantas gets a little wild with a right hook and Reis ducks it, taking him down but he pops right back up. Reis takes his back standing with a body lock along the fence and throws some knees to the back of his legs. The ref separates them and Dantas throws a nice knee that connects. Reis responds with a left hand and circles away. Nice left body kick from Reis and he connects with a looping overhand right. Dantas throws a flying knee and both men throw big punche as the round ends. 10-9 Reis but it could go either way.
Round two: Dantas stalking Reis down and both men throw big power punches. Danas starting to utilize his length a bit better. He clips Reis with a right hand that knocks him off balance and as Reis stumbles backwards Dantas throws a HUGE flying knee that connects flush to his face and knocks him down. A few more punches thrown on the ground and Reis is out cold.
Final result: Eduardo Dantas defeats Wilson Reis via knockout at 1:02 of round two
135 lbs.: Chase Beebe vs. Marcos Galvao
Round one: Beebe presses forward with a nice combination of straight punches. Galvao tries to counter with a knee and they clinch. Galvao takes top position in the scramble and he takes Beebe's back but Beebe slips out the backdoor and takes top position. Very slick grappling. Beebe latches on a guillotine choke and drops to the canvas but Galvao slips free. Beebe reverses Galvao and they both go back to their feet. Beebe latches on another guillotine choke and drops down again. He's really squeezing tight but he might be gassing his arms out. Galvao slips his head free again. Galvao looms above Beebe and drops some punches as Beebe tries to defend with upkicks. Beebe turtles and puts Galvao in a body lock to get back to his feet. Both men exchange knees and punches in the clinch. Galvao throws a big looping right hand that connects and Beebe clinches, throwing some nice short knees that are answered. Galvao responds with a knee of his own and they reset. Galvao whiffs with a flying knee and connects with a looping right hand that knocks Beebe off balance. Nice chopping leg kick from Galvao and they finish the round in the clinch. 10-9 Galvao
Round two: Galvao takes control of the center of the cage early. He lunges in with a nice combination, locks up with Beebe and tosses him to the canvas. Beebe uses the whizzer to escape and get back to his feet. Beebe loosk very tired as Galvao is hunting for a knockout. Galvao connects with a pair of big overhand rights and Beebe responds with some straight punches that bust through his defenses. Nice leg kick from Galvao and he lands a combination that hurts Beebe. Both men trade big blows, neither backing down. They swing wildly nearly falling off balance and Beebe takes Galvao's back standing, looking for a takedown. Galvao turns into Beebe but is still pressed against the fence. Galvao pushes off the fence and scores a takedown and neutralizes Beebe's sweep attempt. Beebe lands an illegal kick but Galvo only gets angry from it and passes to side control with a nice right hand. Beebe turns into Galvao and Galvao takes his back but Beebe slips out the back door. Nice leg kick from Galvao at the end of the round. 10-9 Galvao
Round three: Both men stand in the center and Beebe lands a nice 1-2 combination. Galvao pressues him with more powerful looping strikes that land but Beebe refuses to go down. Beebe presses forward and lands a nice left hand and Galvao responds with a combination o fhis own. Both men throw strikes in the center and Galvao backs Beebe up with a big right hand. Beebe ducks a punch and drops for a takedown but instead clinches. Beebe gains confidence, throwing more strikes and connecting. Beebe presses forward and lands big strikes but can't put Galvao down. The round ends with both men clinching. Strong finish for Beebe but it won't win him the decision. 10-9 Beebe
Final result: Marcos Galvao defeats Chase Beebe via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28)
135 lbs.: Ed West vs. Luis Nogueira
Round one: West throws a head kick but gets blocked. Both men circling each other bouncing around the cage. Snapping head kick is thrown from West and then a knee. West uses a push kick to create distance and then a side kick. Nogueira is staying too far back and is directly in range of West's kicks, not a smart strategy. Switch kick from West lands and Nogueira is really tentative thus far. West clinches an dit's West that scores a takedown with a trip on the Luta Livre fighter. West is completely locked up in Nogueira's guard through. I'm surprised the ref hasn't stood them up. West stands up himself and eats a left hand. They exchange big punches an dNogueira gets the better of them. Nogueira clinches and throws some knees as the round concludes. 10-9 West
Round two: Nogueira presses the action early, throwing some punches and some nice chopping leg kicks. West drops his hands, not sure what he's doing. They clinch and trade body shots and West throws a nice push kick. Another switch kick from West but it doesn't have the zip on it that he had in the first round. West ducks a big looping hook from Nogueira and connects with a nice right leg kick. Nogueira initiates a clinch and attempts to slam West down but gets denied. Nice left hand connects for West, one of his best punches of the fight. Nogueira shoots in for a takedown and stands up, West does a backwards somersault to get back to his feet . West throws a body kick but eats a three punch combo from Nogueira. West gets pushed into the fence, eats some foot stomps. West lands a nice kick at the end of the round. 10-9 Nogueira
Round three: Both men trade kicks early and Nogueira backs West into the fence but eats a nice right hand to the jaw. West dances away as Nogueira stalks him. Nice body kick by West and Nogueira lunges in with a knee, pressing West against the fence. Nogueira really outmuscling West here along the fence. After a struggle, they separate and both men trade blows. West connects with a solid left hand. But Nogueira presses him against the fence yet again. Nogueira drops for a takedown but gets stuffed and West blasts him with a solid punch. West clinches and Nogueira attempts a takedown but gets stuffed. Both men circle in the clinch not doing much and Nogueira drops down for a takedown and gets it. Nogueira picks West up for a slam and West goes for a Kimura which forces a scramble as they get to their feet. West lands a combination as the round ends. 10-9 West
Final result: Ed West defeats Luis Nogueira via unanimous decision (29-28, 30-27, 29-28)
