Strikeforce: Gegard Mousasi vs. Ovince St. Preux booked for December 17th.
Preux up or shut up
Rising light heavyweight Ovince St.Preux (11-4) will confront his stiffest test in former Strikeforce light heavyweight champion and current DREAM light heavyweight champion Gegard Mousasi (31-3-2) on the unannounced December 17, 2011 slated Showtime event.
The card is also expected to have current Strikeforce lightweight champion Gilbert Melendez, Keith Jardine, Strikeforce women's featherweight champion Cristiane Santos and the return of 'Haywire' star Gina Carano.
St.Preux, is currently on an eight fight win streak which includes wins over Joe Carson, Ambongo Humprhrey, Antwain Britt and UFC vet Jason Day. The rising light heavyweight is without question facing his stiffest test in his 15 fight career but the young gun has proven he is ready to face one of the most well-respected light heavyweights internationally.
Mousasi, the current DREAM light heavyweight champion hasn't lost since dropping his Strikeforce light heavyweight strap to 'King Mo' last April at Strikeforce: Nashville. His last tilt in the Hexagon was a less then stellar performance against UFC veteran Keith Jardine. The match was ruled a draw after Mousasi landed an illegal upkick in the first round. Though he outstruck the 'dean of mean' 146-21, the bout was ruled a heavily debated draw. He rebounded at DREAM 15 where he successfully defended his DREAM light heavyweight strap after a TKO stoppage of Hiroshi Izumi in round 1.
Can OSP rise to the occasion or is Mousasi just far too much at this time for the Haiti-born fighter?

Its a good fight
Mousasi either proves hes elite or OSP exposes Mousasi as a good international fighter with some success stateside

As long as OSP isnt stupid enough to think he can stand with him, he can beat him.
Mousasi definitely is a higher tier opponent but off of his back, he’ll be eating elbows this time out.

I hope Gegard shows improvement
But I think OSP is going to run him over. OSP is huge, quick, has great wrestling and cardio.
Big step for OSP
sad that SF doesn’t have a step between to guage if OSP should really be here.
