Good news for UFC fans out of the United Kingdom.
While you've had plenty of television issues as of late, most recently the UFC on Versus 5 show with top UK star Dan Hardy headlining, there's reason to be enthusiastic after Dana White's comments during today's UFC on FOX conference call.
"We're still negotiating where the fight will be shown in the UK," said White when asked about how UK fans can see the upcoming UFC on FOX show. "We'll find a find a way for all fans in UK and Ireland to see this event. Stick with us we'll make happen. It's always down to the wire over there. Once all these deals are at the end of the term, we would love to be with FOX over there. Once our deals expire, we will figure it out and we will get the whole UK/Ireland thing fixed. Rest assured, our relationship with FOX is for seven years and we'll figure out that piece of the puzzle."
MMA fans out of the UK have always been enthusiastic and there would certainly have been an uproar if they weren't able to see the upcoming UFC heavyweight title tilt between champion Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.
Velasquez vs. dos Santos is expected to be the most-watched UFC fight in the history of the sport. White specifically picked the bout because he wanted to deliver the biggest fights to the fans:
"If you're gonna go out on your first fight in the biggest network in the country, you've gotta go with your best fight. We're going with a heavyweight fight that's gonna be a barnburner. It's more than just a heavyweight title, it's two guys that are gonna perform. I put on all the bells and whistles and those guys go out there and do their job. You tell me the last time you saw Junior dos Santos and Cain Velasquez in a boring fight. I'm literally betting everything that it's not gonna happen."
For the longest time, UK fans were simply able to view UFC events on ESPN UK channel, but that relationship appears to have soured after the UFC on FOX deal was announced earlier this month.
Fans across the pond were left with their hands up in the air wondering how they could see their hometown favorite Dan Hardy fight in the main event of UFC on Versus 5.
Thankfully their prayers were answered with a last minute deal through Premier Sports as well as a free stream through UFC.tv.
Hopefully, they won't have to wait until the eleventh hour this time around.
